Player Signing Patriots sign Center Garrett Bradbury

My understanding is this. Last season he was one of the worst starting centers in the NFL, particularly as a pass blocker.... but before that he was okay. Never great but better than last year.... servicable as a pass blocker though still not much good at it... just not complete garbage Is this correct or am i wrong?

If so i am okay signing someone coming off a bad year. We don't know what injuries may have happened or what outside circumstances may have caused him to have a down year and a bounce back is very possible.

We seriously have 2x as many centers on the team as any other NFL team

Bradbury
Strange
Jake Andrews
Ben Brown
Lecitus Smith

We really dont need any more centers
Bradbury is our starter now, Strange is staying at LG and the rest of those C are expendable if they can find a better guy in the draft. As it stands they'd probably keep just one of Andrews or Brown.

I would probably put Robinson at RG and pencil in Schweitzer as the 3rd man at both guard spots. Ben Brown is also most likely ahead of Andrews at C, at least for now

So Marrone didn't like Strange @ Center.

??? Strange Bradbury Onwenu Moses

I like how we sign a guy with 7 years starting experience over a guy who has played just a few games at a position and it means a coach doesn't like a guy. Whats wrong with just upgrading the position when a better free agent becomes available? Why does Marrone have to not like Strange?

Even Lowe Strange Bradbury Onwenu Moses looks better than last year. Depth is still very iffy but there are a few young options that need time to develop. And Hopefully we can still somehow push Lowe into the depth level as well.

Yeah depending how we fill out depth Strange could still double as starting LG and the back up center.

He was basically a turnstile at C for the Vikings. Let’s hope our line coach can work miracles

Double win. A young starting center and one step closer to getting Strange off the roster.
When you’ll see Bradbury play, you’ll wish that Strange was still on the roster.

Bradbury stinks. Just because we sign a center, it doesn’t mean we actually solved that position.

In the 2 games Andrews played, he showed more than Brown.

Why is Strange not on this roster and why can't he continue to lear the position?

That was also a while ago and Brown has more starting experience. I also don't think Andrews has actually played at C in a real game?

I'll take Ryan Wendell 2.0 for the short term. Was a decent center. Nothing special, but wasn't a liability either.

Maybe two years ago he wasn’t. But last year he was 100% a liability to the Vikings.

So far we are adding moses, strange (wasn’t available most of the year), j andrews, and bradberry to the OL from last year. Still a bit of work needed here but this is significant improvement thus far.

That was quick ! I like it.
