These deals are all phony, wait until the details come out. Patriots absolutely should have been willing to pay this (or slightly more) for Kupp. WRs get crazy money these days and cap is booming every year.

Are you saying that Kupp would have signed with us fir for the same or a bit more?

That way too much money for a past his prime Kupp.
Money would serve us better in Kupp's pocket instead of Krafts.

I don't know how you guys think we are going to spend this money? You're all just happy with Kraft ripping us off again. Ring 6 was dead on about this last year and nothing has changed.

Really like to see a left tackle signed that can compete so they don't have to be locked in on Campbell in the draft. Not against drafting him just don't want to feel forced. He's a good football player but measurables; length and span not ideal and Membou is a RT who would have to shift. Nothing is ever a sure thing but damn 4th pick of the draft shouldn't have more then a few questions marks.

Slightly more wasn’t going to be enough to take Kupp away from the comforts of the west coast, which was made clear to be his preference. Especially getting to play in his home state. The report of the asking price for the Pats being insane makes more sense now, it probably would’ve required a $20 million per season deal which would’ve been nuts. $15 million is the highest I wanted to see the Pats go, and seeing that the Seahawks paid that tells me the offers weren’t that competitive across the board.

Better hope that a big trade is coming at WR. I don’t know why this front office drafted Drake Maye if they hate him that much.

Our WRs are #4s at best, the OL is still a mess but on the bright side the TE are decent.

I still don’t think the offense will be much improved from last year.

Yes I understand that. Was just stating if I had to choose which I would prefer.
My point though is there is no reason to have to choose

Lol.

Name one WR on a reasonable contract? Not one of their rookie contract but a WR who's excelled in the league who isn't making stupid money per year?

This year has been better, and it’s not over.
We need a LG or C a LT and 2 WRs.
We also need about a dozen more players who are capable veterans for depth, like Epps and Schweitz.

If they are concerned about next years cap then a lot of those guys can be 1 year deals. There are tons of guys to get.

I would think LT and WR are coming in the draft but we still need a veteran Wr who is better than the Schmoes we have and a plan B at LT if the rookie isn’t ready.

We still need to be very active.

Having a good defense instantly improves a bad offense. More opportunities and more play clock.

But yeah, aside from signing Moses and retaining Hooper there really hasn’t been much to cheer about regarding FA for the offense. However, Vrabel and crew did a pretty good job transforming the defense through fa. Maybe he’ll do great being part of the draft room? Hoping to get a starting LT, LG, Center and WR out of this draft. It can be done if the pieces fall right and he makes good picks. It’s a young rebuild, doesn’t happen over night is what I keep telling myself.

Good luck winning games 13-10.

Our best player is on offense. The offense should have been the priority. Can’t wait for Drake to run around for 17 games because he has 0 protection and no one to throw to. Nice way to develop your most important player

I guess they don't have much faith in Layden or Strange.

I know Kupp isn’t in his prime anymore but I hope the Pats offered more than it took for Seattle to sign him.

A trade seems like the only way the receiver room will improve this year short of a young player making the leap.

Strikes me as merely a camp body. Maybe he makes the teams as a backup guard, who knows. They need more options though, and those may come in the draft. It’s worth noting that Strange is likely the de facto starting center with the release of David Andrews.

They should have no faith in Robinson but even if they do, you need backups. This isn’t a guy signed to be a starter and answer the need at a position.
He seems like a good 4/5 IOL with position flexibility. We still need another starter at either LG or C with strange playing the other.
