It's an interesting though.Just a supposition, hoping to create a debate.
I've had the safety thought as well.Draft him as a WR and use him as a defensive chess piece at either/ both the slot CB or single high safety.
If Hunter is still on the board at 4# and he would prefer to be traded as a CB, would the Patriots still want him after signing Carlton Davis III. Or trade down and get a good haul from a team gagging to sign him?.
It's time to start getting ready for the real possibility that the unicorn comes to New England...
I've been saying just that for a while now. That was filthy!
I'd welcome Travis Hunter and run down to the podium if he's available at #4.
He's going to get most of his snaps as WR1. But I also like the idea of seeing if he plays high leverage snaps at CB/S.
Deep Safety is actually a need for our team more than boundary corner. A lot of CB's have historically converted to S and become all-pros. So maybe WR/S will be his mix of plays for us?
It just never seemed likely to happen until this week.I've been saying just that for a while now.
I don't mind he being a part time player on defense, I've suggested a hybrid NB/FS role for him, but I think in year one, he needs to focus 100% on offense to get that nailed down. Integrating him into the defense could start to happen in year two.Was listening to Bert Breer & Andrew Callahan on Toucher & Hardy this AM, they were alluding to Hunter being a "generational" talent as he has only scratched the surface of his Offensive capabilities...
He can play some spot Defense, but makes me think that this is probably the best choice at #4....
To be honest, I think he’ll be there at 4. Jaxson Dart has been getting a lot of helium lately to the point I think it’s possible that either the Saints trade up to 2 to take him or the Browns just take him outright. Sanders to NYG seems like it will happen. Just a feeling.
