Things will change a lot until draft day.

Right now, Im feeling trade down from 31 and up from 63, roughly giving and receiving the same. Give me Jacob Rodriguez and Malachi Lawrence and Im going to be happy with the rest of the draft.

I was running some sims today and I was doing exactly that, trading back, and then up.
Previously I could easily get DDS in rd 2, even rd 3. Today he wasn't available at 63.
It's just a sim, and the real draft could be very different, but it's changed quite a bit in last the couple of days.

I agree. We started 1-2 with Gonzo out.

People talk about it was rare/lucky for Moses to play 17 games last year. But hes done it damn near every year of his career.

Last year was the 1st time Davis did it. The previous 7 years he missed between 3 and 7 games every year. Gonzo has had his own issues staying healthy at times.

While I wouldnt advocate for a CB in rounds 1 or 2, a CB in the 3rd or 4th should be under consideration. Depth for this year, and as a possible Davis replacement the following year.

Not the final piece. The right side still needs an overhaul for the long term:

- A RT successor to Morgan Moses. Max Iheanachor or Blake Miller. Monroe Freeling out of reach. Maybe Travis Burke. 2027 options include Niki Prongos and PJ Williams.
- A more athletic RG successor to Mike Onwenu. Micah Morris an intriguing day 3 option. 2027 has some really talented day 2 options in Kade Pieper, Austin Siereveld, Carter Smith and Cayden Green.

Here's an interesting situation to keep an eye on:

The 2026 NFL Draft will have a significant impact on current NFL players, pushing some out of starting roles.

One of the players listed is none other than Miami OL Jonah Savaiinaea, who the Pats were rumored to be strongly considering at 38, before Miami traded up to take him at 37.

Savaiinaea played on the right side his entire college career. A natural RG, Arizona moved him to RT, not ideal for his footwork. Miami aggravated the problem by moving him to the left side, where his struggles made Jared Wilson look like the second coming of John Hannah.



Savaiinaea is very athletic for a RG, with a 4.95 40, 1.72 10-split, and 4.66 SS at 6'5" 324#.

I think he's a poor fit on the left side, but could be a dominant RG, with the ability to back up RT in a pinch.

The Dolphins reportedly plan to keep Savaiinaea at LG:



If he continues to struggle on the left side, I'd seriously consider exploring a trade, which should not cost a ton, and would allow the Pats to focus on other areas. He could just be a bust, but if the cost were a day 3 pick it would be worth a gamble. He's only 23, and this time a year ago the Pats were very bullish on him.



An OL of Campbell - AVT - Wilson - Savaiinaea - Iheanachor/Miller for 2027 could potentially be pretty nice.

Something to keep an eye on.

To be clear, I was NOT super high on Savaiinaea last year, and was glad the Pats didn't take him at 38. But I do think he could be a very good and athletic RG, and if an opportunity presents itself, it would be something to consider.

The big difference to me between Max Iheanachor this year and Savaiinaea last year as a RT is Iheanachor 's footwork, which is a Superpower I prize greatly. But as a RG, Savaiinaea could be a standout.
