Get ready for no big improvement in the WR position, there are different ways to build a team, I can see they have different strategy than throwing 50/60Mi at the WR position, we still have young up and coming players in Boutte and Pop, question marks in Polk and Baker, maybe Aiyuk or Higgins still come into play but not much more than that, maybe Hunter in the draft.

It's not possible to fix everything in one offseason,
We made some good signings already and the goal is to win games, they will be able to achieve that goal with more defense, getting out of the field and giving more chances, shorter fields for Maye.

Like ir or not, it's a strategy.

I sincerely do like Hollins, he’s not a superstar but as others said, he does his job and isn’t afraid to get dirty. He’s an actual real X which means they can put Polk, Boutte, Douglas at Z/Slot where they belong. Let Hollins and Baker man the X. The room is more rounded out now.

Another possession receiver, liked by his teammates because he acts quirky... whatever.

This was a huge play, didn’t realize it was on trent mcduffie until i looked up the play just now

I just don't get this signing . What happens to Bourne . Is Bourne a part of aiyuk trade package where we trade bourne + 3rd rounder for 49ers to get aiyuk and 49ers eat 10 million of aiyuk 's cap space.

Should have signed Kupp instead... another old fart.
He’s still under contract. So it’d be trading for him and getting his existing contract. They may want to wait and sign him after he’s released.

The signing is getting good, hardworking guys in the lockeroom.

June 1 the team saves $6.3m if he is cut. There is no Bourne.

People who are upset about this: signing a guy for 4 million a year has ZERO bearing on their ability or motivation to go get a #1 receiver. This is a depth signing.

I don't think Hollins is getting enough credit for his ability. In 2022 and 2024 Hollins had better avg separation numbers than your(this board collectively) beloved Higgins and DK according to Nextgen stats and better target separation numbers according to player profiler.

I know there is more to being a WR than 2 different separation stats, but 1 of these WR seems pretty good and the others are Metcalf and Higgins.

For the money invested vs potential impact I will take Hollins. The other 2 really do not interest me. I am saying this in jest but you guys act like Hollins is trash and he isn't.

He's a solid receiver who's dependable, consistent and professional. So, solid, dependable, consistent and professional. And we were woefully short last eason of guys you'd describe with ONE of those adjectives, let alone all four.

Vrabel, Wolf and Cowden are having a great FA so far. 6 potential starters brought in today. My opinion only, Arguably top 3 free agent CB in Davis, Top DT in Milton Williams, Top RT Moses, a potential starting big body X WR, Starting LB's in Spillane and Landry.

I do love all of the complaining though, so do not allow me to stop you. lol

McDaniels wanted this Hollins had a career year with him.
The "career" year was under 700 yards. And he's 31 now. It's not like he will suddenly turn the corner in training camp. Feels like a backup WR or special teamer. We have not solved WR with this move. This is another WR3 or WR4 type of player.

We really need to hit in the draft if this is our biggest free agent WR signing then OOF.

Another WR3/4 but he’s the only guy on the roster who truly profiles as an X. So there’s good value there and his special teams ability makes for good roster balance. They might want to keep an extra receiver this year depending on how the draft goes so someone with STs ability helps accommodate that.
