How much are the loser taxpayers in Buffalo shelling out for the new stadium ?

Wow

Tops Bradys career earnings in a single contract... smh

Isn't Sunday supposed to be a day of rest? It seems like more is being done today than will be tomorrow.

Guy had 4 more years left and they just ripped that up. Pretty stupid IMHO.

It is tough to find specifics of his former deal, but it looks like Buffalo added 2 years for the price of $200 million. Pretty stupid IMHO.

He deserves more than that. Crazy as it sounds.

That's a pretty good deal for Buffalo. Too bad they will keep wasting him away.

It's a re-working of his old deal which was becoming untenable because his cap hit was so bloated.

It gives him an extension, a raise, but spreads his cap hit out and makes it more palatable.

Football value aside, someone getting 1/4 of a billion dollars for playing a sport is mind boggling.
That's peanuts compared to baseball. They aren't that far away from the first ever billion dollar contract.

This is confusing because it’s being reported as a “6 year extension” even though he already had an additional 4 years left on his current deal. So you’d think he would now have 10 years left on his deal total, but it’s actually just 6. So in reality, it’s a 2 year extension.

Just wait until Mahomes and Jackson get thiers...

If we go by Schefter, it is not an extension so any reports saying it is are wrong.

Like I said above, they basically added 2 years to his current deal at the cost of $200 million. I just don't see how anyone can consider this a smart move on Buffalo's part.

I’m guessing it was to placate the QB. We will probably see the same from Mahomes soon even though he’s already signed through 2029 when he’ll be in his late 30s.

Isn't two year's added "an extension?"

It's smart because on his prior deal, the one he had an hour ago, his cap hit this season swelled to $44.7 million, next season it went to 62.9 million, and stayed in the 60's for one more season before going back to 50 million. Smart for Allen because for sure he got more guaranteed... it's a raise.

In the beginning of this deal ^ they deferred the majority of his cap until year four, and in year four it only was 30 million. It would have been double that soon.

It's hard to build a well rounded balanced team with one player taking up a quarter of your salary cap annually.
