Finances are going to kill the league.

We already have QBs you would need to pay another team to take.

Football value aside, someone getting 1/4 of a billion dollars for playing a sport is mind boggling.
No really when you realize how much the owners make off of those guys running around on the field.

If we go by Schefter, it is not an extension so any reports saying it is are wrong.

Like I said above, they basically added 2 years to his current deal at the cost of $200 million. I just don't see how anyone can consider this a smart move on Buffalo's part.
As mentioned, it is tough to find details on the old deal or the new one.... it looks like the $200 million number is a bit high, but the actual number is still a very high $180 million.

The one thing I would be worried about if I was the Bills is how much of a beating Allen gets from his style of play. He has remained very healthy considering the hits he gets, but that kind of abuse can catch up to him as he gets older. I mean he is a little over a year from 30.

Well deserved. He’s having a great career.
Deserved got nothing to do with it.

It's a matter of the money being available for spending when there is cap space.

Sometimes, there's a man. He's the man for his time and place. He fits right in there. And that's Josh Allen... in Buffalo.

No question.

I think he's cooked in 5 years.

Neither is comprehensible.
What is so incomprehensible about it? The NFL generates enough revenue to pay the players a certain amount. As revenue goes up, players' salaries will increase proportionally.

The only way for the salary cap and these insane prices to flatten out, would be we the NFL fans saying enough is enough with the cost they charge for tickets, Sunday ticket, Jersey sales etc etc.

No one, other then your average NFL fan, is affected by these crazy salaries.

Exactly.

And that clearly isn't happening anytime soon.

How does this affect the Bills cap? Long term.
We have to see the final contract. But it also depends how long he plays and at what level. There's probably void years on this deal.

Either way, when he's done they'll probably be staring at a massive dead cap for a season or two, unless they're really lucky with how it ends.

Just wait until Mahomes and Jackson get thiers...
Mahomes will see another reworking, they won't want to extend Lamar too far past 30... at least I wouldn't. He's a sub optimal passer without his legs.

Neither is comprehensible.

A billion is just a staggering amount that most people can't even begin to accurately comprehend how many times it dwarfs their own earnings. Even a millionaire is only 1/1,000 as rich as a billionaire. By way of comparison... someone who has modestly saved even say 100,000 is about as rich compared to someone with only 100 dollars.

He had one of his worst seasons statistically. They probably lose the divisional game had Andrew’s not acted like he was shaving points. This is going to be comical once the rest of the AFC wakes up.

Josh Allen's dirty little secret.
Everyone ****s on Lamar Jackson - Josh Allen's 7-6 in the playoffs (usually with much better rosters), and never gotten out of the Championship round. He's going into his Age 29 season.

That said, playing in that tiny market, owners are not unwilling to actually spend money, that's nice to see.

A lot of Benjamins for a QB/Franchise who would need to Google "Duck boat".
