So we will play with 5 OGs?

So when the Bears acquire one of the best guards in the league we pick up the scraps.

Pretty sure he was considered one of the better guards in the league going into last season. Then he had to play with Curly at his left and Larry at his right making him look like Moe. The guy you have to each side really matters for interior linemen.

We have too many guards that have potential and not enough tackles. More guards wont fix the line problems.
Absolutely correct.. OGs are are moving around for a reason. OTs are rare finds.

They can't pay as much, but he could easily take a short term deal there and be on a contender team and parlay that into another big payday in a year or two. Same **** happened for us when we were a dynasty. Coming to good teams is viewed as an investment coming to bad teams is viewed as a risk where you go under the radar on a ****show.

The issue is the Chiefs might not be asked to pay as much as we would
That would be a weird move by Stanley. He had four straight years marred by injuries. He is coming off a healthy season where he played fantastic. It would be a very large gamble for him to count on another payday in a year or two. If he can get paid at the top of the market right now, he should jump at that, since he might not have that chance again.

Lets get real. Pats are not signing Stanley.
Keep expectations consistent with Reality.
He is re upping with Ravens. They have no replacement for him and are SB contenders

Cam Robinson is more realistic

Jenkins was pretty good last year individually. I felt like Jonah Jackson swapping out for him was a lateral move, maybe even a slight downgrade.

Yes. Why pay 16m when we have Layden Robinson and Sidy Sow?
Maybe savibg cap dollars for next weeks big “splash”
Actually we have Onwenu and strange and more severe need at every other position except qb

The deterioration of the Chiefs continues.

I think Thuney’s upcoming extension should answer some questions. There are a bunch of reports that this isn’t a one year rental for the Bears, so they had to negotiate not only with the Chiefs but also with Thuney. It would be kind of incredible if Thuney can get some 2027 guarantees out of this, as he’ll turn 35 that November. Even 2026 guarantees (when he’ll turn 34) would be a good get right now.

Did you miss the Super Bowl, by chance?
I really am not judging to hard because he was playing out of position and sweat does that kind of thing against actual LT's. He also has a relatively inexperienced undrafted 2nd year guy at LG.

Yeah id be interested to learn why the bears would opt for jackson who seems like a downgrade and also a year older rather than just keeping jenkins before I explore that.

gotta love the knee jerk reactions around here. nothing really changes ever
Thuney was considered the 12th best guard by PFF, he'll be 33 yo next year. Jenkins was ranked the 18th best guard and will be 27.
Thuney will also enter the last year of his contract and his due 16M, we shall see what contract Jenkins gets.
If we indeed pickup Jenkins we are effectively doomed. The sky will fall and we will all most likely die.

Bears are reportedly high on the soon to be Falcons free agent center, next on their list.

At some point they need to start paying or "overpaying" guys. If talent is out there go get it. Not going to lie this one annoys me.
I think they will pay/overpay for guys but are hesitant to trade draft picks to do so. I agree with it especially when there are LG FA's that can provide slightly above average play and they won't cost draft picks.

I also think trading for a "#1" WR is not the route they should take. I know that I am in the minority, but as I have said several times, if Maye has more time before getting pressure on him he will find someone down field.
