Wolf doing nothing. Just a preview of next Wednesday. Will be fun to hear about all the impact players they were "in on", but ultimately failed to sign.

Hes due $16m in cash this year. I assume the NEP did not want to pay that.
At some point they need to start paying or "overpaying" guys. If talent is out there go get it. Not going to lie this one annoys me.

Compensation makes sense; that’s what we got when we traded Logan Mankins at similar points in their careers.

Edit: wait, 2026 6th round pick instead? Wow, that’s not much at all.

Double edit: Rapoport is saying 2026 4th round pick. That makes much more sense and is completely identical to the Mankins trade (2015 4th rounder received in August 2014 trade).

Correct, i think the post that says 6th rounder is a typo. Most im seeing say its a 4th

I expect KC now to go after Stanley if he hits free agency, they also have a hole at LT and are obviously more of an attractive destination than NE is.

So when the Bears acquire one of the best guards in the league we pick up the scraps.

Nothing changes with this franchise

I mean, he'll be 33 before the start of the season.

I'd rather see Layden Robinson, Cole Strange and Sidy Sow battle it out.

Thuney has how many more years left?

Even the 4th rounder Chicago traded is better value.

KC cannot pay as much as New England. That’s really what will likely matter most. This is his likely last chance at a big payday.

I am not ready to bring out the pitchforks yet but this one definitely irks me. We always love a good homecoming around here as the townie bar on thanksgiving break but when we actually have a chance to bring back an elite player who has been here before we sit on our hands.

I do believe they will overpay for people. But the age needs to be right and the position.

We all love Thuney. Never should have left but I can understand why they didn't want to shell out $16m for a stop-gap solution.

On the other hand keeping Maye upright is the #1 priority. Thuney does address that priority.

Yes I would rather let two unproven nobodies try and patch it together instead of a couple years of elite guard play.

I mean we have one starting guard for 2025 which is likely Onwenu. Andrews has been banged up and may end up retiring. Cole Strange has been a bust and we basically have no tackles. We're going to need at least one stop-gap option starting on the line. Why not at least make it a good one?

It's gonna be painful to watch the Bears build around Caleb Williams while Maye is behind the worst OL and throwing to the worst WRs in the league again.

Stanley should be wined and dined as should Milton Williams and 2 other OL go into the draft with no holes.

I'm fine w/ them trading a 4th for Thuney. Just saying I understand why they didn't.

KC will go all in on Stanley, bad news for NE.

I just hope there is a plan for the o-line. I am not going to freak out before free agency and the draft even happens but it feels like we miss so many layups over the last few years it would be nice to get a need filled early.
