AJ Brown what price?

The boat is pulling out of the harbor on Higgins after the recent news. Metcalf said he does not want to be in Massachusetts. We need to come up with a plan. Chris Godwin is up next as the best FA. He is a slot receiver. Xavier Restrepo is a good slot to draft, but we need an X. Devante Adams will be cut. 2026 is not a good FA WR or draft year.
Ooof. Just saw that the Bengals will use franchise tag on Tee Higgins. That certainly ruins that plan!

Godwin is a really good receiver and safety blanket, but I have my doubts on using big money on primarily a slot WR. He's no Mike Evans.

I am a woman, my man. What I know about the cap is just common knowledge on Google if you ask the right questions and read. I have an analytical mind and like to do that. Just look up a player contract and take notice of the dead cap. If the dead cap is greater than the salary owed, that presents a red flag. It can still be worked around though. But with AJ Brown that gap is $43,749,894. Then look up the dead cap that remains if the player is traded to see if it saves or costs. Compare how that can be split into two with a June 1 cut. That reveals a lot of answers. It does not give me the exact numbers, but in the ball park. 2026 for AJ Brown is much more promising. His dead cap falls to $20 million and his cap is $23. That is much better for a trade.

Using google is so yesterday. AI does a much better job.

I'm saying 3rd rounder and possibly a 2026 pick gets him... what was the trade compensation for him when he was traded from Titans? Unlike DK AJ would want to be here and he's close with Vrabel..
AJ and Deebo are good friends, soooooo

When there was some sounds of an issue between Brown and Hurts, he was the first player I thought, well if we swapped 1sts with Philly and got Brown, that would make him worth around the 10th pick, that might work.....

Then the crashing realization of his contract comes into play....the he has something like 32mill in dead money this year, the Eagles would loss around 13mill in cap space by trading him.

0% chance he is traded.
If they trade him after June 1st its 10.7M in dead money and they save 6.8M, but that really would not make sense for them.

Can we give up our first round pick for two of their starting offensive linemen.

My concern with AJ or any other stud receiver is a half has gone by and a ball hasn’t been thrown their way and they are standing in front of Maye venting their frustration. I would rather have a roster of receivers that ran good routes, had good hands and were unselfish. To me O-Line biggest priority.
Lets try and get Jordan Mailatta rather than Brown.

Not happening. He isn't leaving Philly and they aren't trading him.

Don't worry guys... Doc and I are heading back to give BB the sports almanac with all the best guys.. AJ Brown will be career Patriot in short order.

Thanks for taking the time to do this. I am a big believer that "cap management" is half the battle. for all of Bill's faults and greatness, I think he was wicked smaht about the cap. The "go get 'em" and "we need to overpay" arguments make me cringe. (And I'm not a CPA ... just an ordinary dope).

There is a ton of manipulation that can be done that Bill refused to do. It could have easily been done to keep Tom, but he never had cap problems either.

Send our 2nd for Brown, and a 3rd for DK Metcalf.

That would be wild.

Chabal was a destroyer.
At first I was like why is NBA Center Steve Adams playing rugby. lol

I enjoyed watching that. I am going to start digging into rugby because that was fun.

Maybe we can get our disinformation campaign going and put it out there that AJ is bonking JH mom AND wife. Maybe that will add to the supposed tension between them? GOGOGO TROLLS OF THE WORLD OF KRAFTFARM! UNITE! WE WILL GET A NEW BINKY, CARE OF....ANOTHER TEAM!

Godchaux and a 6th for aj

I agree. I love Higgins too. But it appears Cincy is going to extend him. So I'm of the mind be aggressive. If a 3rd or 4th rounder gets AJ then you do it. Obviously we aren't going to give up our 4th overall.
Get at least 3 seasons of AJ with drake.. I believe the team will extend Drake prior to his rookie deal expiring. The team needs to gather ad much talent as they can be it draf, and FA. Even take a flier on adams once he's released. He could be a good veteran for Drake for at least 2 seasons while still acquiring talent. Just getting a "guy" substantially helps the entire offense where our current 3s and 4s can play within thier talent levels.
In what reality does a 3rd or 4th rounder get you AJ Brown?

The Eagles gave up a 1st and a 3rd to get Brown, and they just won the Super Bowl. Why would they take a 3rd or 4th to get rid of him when they are clearly SB contenders and he is a big part of their team?
