No body knows anything until a deal is done. The pessimistic comment wasn't directed at you.. I'm a fan.. and anyway the team can improve you explore. Vrabel has already adequate mention of the state of the roster. If 2 teams so chooses to make a deal they will.. let the GMs do thier jobs and worry about cap and dead money.. so who do you see in your reality that we can acquire. Is kupp or Deebo a fantasy too.?

So we should call Tom Brady and see if he wants to back up Drake Maye. I mean, you cannot improve unless you explore, right? What if he says yes? Then we have the greatest backup QB in history. Right? My point is that 2 teams are not choosing to make a deal to trade Brown. The Eagles cannot do it. GM creativity has nothing to do with it. Its reality.

How are Kupp or Deebo related to Brown in any way? SF could spread Deebo's dead money across 2025 ($10.6 million) and 2026 ($20.4 millIon) and actually get $5.2 million in savings. They would lose $15 million if they traded Deebo, but if they cut him post June 1, they save $5 million. I think its more likely he get cut. LA would save $12.5 million and have a dead money hit of $17.3 million by trading him before June 1. 1) These numbers are nothing like AJ Browns $60+ million dead cap. 2) LA and SF seem to want to move on from bother players. Philly hasn't expressed any such thing 3) Trading Kupp and cutting Deebo actually saves the teams money. Trading AJ Brown loses money.

Just look up a player contract and take notice of the dead cap. If the dead cap is greater than the salary owed, that presents a red flag. It can still be worked around though. But with AJ Brown that gap is $43,749,894. Then look up the dead cap that remains if the player is traded to see if it saves or costs. Compare how that can be split into two with a June 1 cut. That reveals a lot of answers. It does not give me the exact numbers, but in the ball park. 2026 for AJ Brown is much more promising. His dead cap falls to $20 million and his cap is $23. That is much better for a trade.

AJ Brown boat has long sailed. New England is rebuilding, he's coming off a Superbowl win. He wants to get PAID but with a contender not with a team that's scraping bottom of the AFC East.

Our best bet is to go after a guy like Metcalf who hasn't tasted big success yet but could be tempted to be our #1 in New England as long as he cashes a fat paycheck of course.

Then add Tee Higgins in free agency and suddenly you have a 1-2 that can actually threaten defenses.

Of course this is best case scenario. No idea what Wolf's plan is but hopefully he is aggressive in both free agency and the draft to address our top needs: WR, LT, and DT.

The Patriots aren’t in a position to go make an “offer they can’t refuse” for some player that wouldn’t otherwise be under trade consideration. The list of reasonable trade targets is almost entirely going to be:
1. Big contract not worth it to current team but could be worth it to another team

3. Disappointing third or fourth year player who is still on a cheap rookie contract

Davante Adams is older but still can be a solid X. He will be cut and free to sign. If he’s good with playing for McDaniels again then that’s helpful since he already has experience.

I actually wouldn’t worry about it. He’s under contract 5 more years with his deal voiding in his age 33 season. I would rather wait to see how much he slows down before committing to more years. Besides, when diva WRs get deals that long, they tend to complain they’re underpaid halfway in anyway.
