Injuries derailed that season and BB made some really bizarre coaching moves that year.****ing Gostkowski's missed PAT, ****ing Jamie Collins biting TWICE on an Owen Daniels seam route, and Belichick could have kicked a figgie on one of the Pats' last 2-3 drives.....
And that day we were playing Vollmer who had torn his ACL...but still switched over from RT to LT cuz' Solder was out.
And that game should have never been in Denver to begin with...thanks to Chris Harper's muffed punt earlier that year in Denver!
My only guess with the Collins bites was because he was thrown off by how aggressive Denver was early on. Maybe the game plan was to stop the run. Weren't you guys shocked at how aggressive Manning was early on? Once Patricia punched him back in the mouth, the Broncos offense went nowhere. However, I've been watching old games when Collins was in NE and he had a tendency to sleep in coverage. Mayo was another guy who was awful in open space.
Should've never lost the first meeting in Denver. It would've been a moot point had they just beaten the Jets in week 16, then they could've had 2 weeks off. Or what about the Eagles at home?
I couldn't believe Bill kept opting to go for it on 4th down. Attempting and making the field goals would've won them the game.
