Barmore and Blood clots

Like Bill used to say sometime you have to protect the player from themselves! Because he felt good enough or was "cleared " to play doesn't mean a player "should " especially with the some thing like that.
The team would not let him play if there was a risk he would die. Period.

Correct, andrews clots had traveled to the lungs which made it much more serious and they completely ruled his season out from the start. Hopefully Barmore returning didn’t set him back
Clots are clots.. I mentioned to @RobertWeathers that under Mayo he was allowed to play.. we all know clots sidelines a player 3 to 6 months.. being that Mayo was buddies with all the guys on defense.. he likely didn't see the need to protect Barmore from Barmore.. so yeah.. I mentioned Mayo he was the HC and had say on who plays.. unless wolf told him to play Barmore..

Barmore should have been shut down for the entire season. While I appreciate his efforts to make a come back, his long term health is much more important than playing this year was.
There is zero reason to believe this is football related. As far as we know Football didn't start the problem and didn't cause whatever made him shut it down a second time.

His own health aside all we really know is it's extremely dangerous to play on blood thinners and that his problem might require its use.

We don't even know what occurred to make him shut it down a second time. I think we should all be hoping that whatever meds he was using had a side effect not related to clots and that it's just a matter of tweaking his meds.

We'll get our answer if they Draft DT Mason Graham.

I don’t think will answer the question if Barmore can return, as whether he returns or not they have to plan as if he won’t be there. Even if he returns his career could end at any time.

Let's hope for the Best Ivan.

Just like with David Andrews, its better to be prudent than it is not.

He hadn't played in months. Of course he was going to be rusty.
When it was announced that he was being shut down for the rest of the season Barmore expressed his disappointment that he was feeling the best he had all season. Clearly the most important thing is his long term health, we have to assume that the doctors did their jobs. For Barmore and the team it was better to find out if he was healthy last year when expectations were at their lowest and an entire offseason to treat the new symptoms.

Maybe Mayo's brother cleared him to play.. and Mayo said to Barmore your soft if you don't play..

Another case of nepotism gone bad, LOL. Not sure why it was bad for BB to have his kids on staff and ok for Mayo to have his brother. I am glad that they are making real changes under Vrabel.

All this speculation seems to be based on him not playing the last 3 weeks. When he returned mid-season, they were 3-7, had won two of the previous 3 games, and had a favorable schedule ahead. Then they lost all 4 games he played in, so at 3-11 maybe they all just said "what's the point?" He'd had no offseason, preseason, or early season to get himself into shape, and he wasn't playing his usual dominant style. There's no reason to assume his blood clots returned or anything like that.

I think there's a very good chance he comes back and at 100%.

Hope you are right but its complete uninformed speculation

Why blame Mayo? Hes not a doctor. His situation is on the training and medical staff.

Barmore was cleared to play. I'm sure they administered blood and imaging tests frequently and when his results came back unfavorable they put him back on the BT protocol/changed his med/dosage.

As long as his life and career were not in danger, letting him play was prudent.

For what reason?

I agree it's not on Mayo, but the organization should have shut him down.

It was stupid even if it wasn't a reason.

I remember that part of the season, and anyone reasonable had no hope on the season other than for fun.

Stupid based on what? If his tests came back clean, was in no danger medically except for his symptoms to return and closely monitored/tested frequently why not play?
