I think this might be the time where you identify and let the core group to gel in.
Edelman, amendola, Hogan all took time to become effective. Build a solid core that will grow along with Maye . If we have more than 6 wins this season with few playmakers that's a win. Anythibg over that is a bonus.

I’ve heard him speak he’s not a Alpha like Vrabs he talks with more authority than McDaniels but we are talking about Vrabels alpha mentality, team building plus McDaniels offensive strategies

I like Vrabel, I can’t imagine he would let Mcdaniels get in the way. I believe if Mcdaniel’s stays in his lane and doesn’t get involved in personnel decisions, we could be ok. I don’t like the hire though, feels like we’re going backwards instead of moving forward

You know it dawned on me why suddenly Minihane got 2 big scoops recently and it ties into my idea of it being intentional by Vrabel.

Vrabel was/is very close with his old tackle in Tennessee, Taylor Lewan, who has had a show with Barstool for a few years now. Now Vrabel comes to NE and suddenly in his first couple weeks Kirk Minihane randomly gets big scoops before anyone else.

Who does Minihane work for? Barstool. You can draw a dotted line here.

IMO Vrabel thinks the usual “locals” like Curran need to be knocked down a peg or two and so is leaking to lowly Barstool to turn the local media power dynamic on its head. Plus potentially also doing a solid for Barstool simply because he likes them.

I also like that McD has spent the last year hanging out at colleges to add new wrinkles and innovations to his system. I think it’s going to be fine.

Absolutely agree! Bring the FB back to the offense.. look at San Francisco they have an all pro fullback. We need another James devlin type.. what I'm most excited for is the slot WR position and the 3rd down back.. gibby is going to thrive under Josh.

Just parroting the Minihane scoop. Nothing has been made official yet even though the SI headline tried to make it sound so.

Here's what I see in Josh as OC, he brings a stern veteran presence to Drake and the entire offense. He's not going to force his offense on Drake he's going to morph the offense around Drake and his abilities. I think the chance kupp comes here just got real. My hope is for tee Higgins, DK metcalf or someone on the outside. How kupp will do! Also incorporating the full back, the slot WR the, 3rd down back. All of this is in the west coast offense that people seem to gush over.

As a fan I'm elated for this move. I give AVP props for development of Drake he did a great job. Play caller not so much. I know the OL was a huge reason why AVP couldn't call everything he would have liked. However that ship has sailed ️. Josh has the structure, the ability to game plan and utilize the skill positions in the offense. I've never missed sound coaching like I have after the season of Jarod rust.
