Vrabel's Staff Discussion Thread (Discuss related news here)

I believe they have our DC.

Terrell Williams

He worked under Vrabel at Tennessee

Here he is at a press conference earlier this season.

One of the bonuses of bringing in Williams is that I think he'd get Carlton Davis to sign with the Pats. I'd be on board with Davis being opposite Gonzalez. Then the Pats would just need a Slot Corner would could step in for Marcus Jones when he get's injured.

I didn't watch a lot of Detroit games. What was the defense they were running? I know that they had Hutchinson on one edge. He's a terror. They injuries on defense didn't catch up to them until the Commanders game.

He left to be the Bengals Oline coach earlier today.
Talk about out of the frying pan and into the fire. The poor guy should have gone to a team that had a decent line.

FWIW seeing a lot of comments in Titans forums and social media how the team had a boatload of hammy and soft tissue injuries when he was with them.

Maybe he can work with TB12 and Alex to help eliminate hammy and soft tissue injuries.. Of course, there is also the HILL that the Pats have, which should help as well.

This coordinator hiring period is giving me PTSD flashbacks from last year when all the top candidates came off the board whike the house burned in Foxboro.
Come on Vrabel don’t leave us with table scraps
He might also have his eye on tonight's game(not just to root on his alma mater) but to scout Al Golden as his other DC candidate.

Oh I loved Carlton Davis coming out of college. When I saw his arm length I was like GET HIM!

They use Cover-1 Man for the most part.

Vrabel’s staff seems to coming together very slowly and in complete secrecy. Vrabel just had a year off, I would have expected he would know his dream staff down to the last detail.
Come on Mike, throw the fans a bone and let us know who you are talking to
I was thinking exactly the same thing. He knows who he wants to work with and has known for a while. It’s all about if those coaches want to be here and not at any of the other vacancies.

This is why I am not ready to dump Wolf. Looks like he spent the last year expanding the football operation department and modernizing their scouting system. This was something desperately needed under Belichick which he refused to do. Wolf did free agency and the draft last year with the tools Belichick left him. Now maybe we will get vastly better results this offseason now that the football operations is starting play on a level playing field with the rest of the league.

If Wolf fails this year, he definitely needs to be gone. But maybe he will turn things around. He is well respected around the league. He did do well in Green Bay.

Come on, Rob. Wolf has been there 3 years. This idea that BB was holding them back in terms of scouting is just BS from Wolf to save his own arse on how f'in poor he is at his job.

Wolf was never the man in GB. He was just a contributor.

What about their fronts? Is it 4-2? 3-3?

Do they go with lighter S/LBs? Or do they use more traditional FS/SS system?

The Bengals already have a mediocre O-line. Did they need to get it any worse?
What makes you think that Peters will make them worse? Do you really blame PETERS for the 32 O-line that the Pats had on the roster last year?

How can coaches develop consistency with players if the players are gone before they have time to adequately work with them?

Aaron Glenn having his second in person interview with Jets,
That one makes too much sense.

Let’s get our staff full please.
Coaches should be lined up to coach Maye.

He may very well have it all worked out, but he was subject to restrictions on when he can actually hire those people. Most of those restrictions are now lifted as of today unless those people still work for BUF, KC, PHI or WAS.

I do not think Ben Johnson woukd have come here and Patriots probably kbew all along Bears were his first choice

From all reports Peter’s was a excellent hire.

If they hire some rando or the Rams QB coach or Mcown as the OC I am going to lose it.

Lou anarumo ,eberflaus, uhlbrich and Dennis Allen are already / about to be hired.

Why the secrecy . I am sure our OC and DC candidates are not any from the teams playing in championship games. So why the delay ??

Mike said it would be a long process lots of interviews and he wasn’t rushing.
Maybe he meant that.
He maybe targeting someone on one of the 4 remaining teams.

4-3

They had Brian Branch as their ball hawking safety now that they have Arnold at CB.
