Yeah, for a Foundation Piece: a Starting Caliber Left TackleDraft is that way to go.
suppose it comes down to balancing the age old questions - which position is deeper in the draft? out of the top candidates in the two positions, which subset has the BPA...
I want a tackle... think we are taking a receiver... but that might chance now Vrabel is in town...
If you think there are no OT's worth the 4th overall pick, it opens the window for a trade down, add an additional piece to shore things up... even if its in next years draftIve always thought you take them as the situation best presents itself. Nearly every year you are seeing top wr’s get traded /shopped. Lt’s not so much. From the looks of it No ot in the draft is worth pick #4, cant force it if its not there. Maybe 36 or a trade up is the way to go.

Between Robinson (in Y2), Onwenu, Strange (back from injury), J Andrews (back from injury), D Andrews (back from injury), and Sow (back from injury), my hope is that we will have three solid players at RG, C, and LG.What if your rt , lg, and c still sucks? If you don’t have more than 1 or 2 good linemen the LT can only help so much. Plus Ot was an issue all year but when people got open quick we moved effectively. We just have nobody to do this consistently.
A good line helps but thats 5 people. Both are needed but One elite level wr is the single player who can help the most.

Draft WRs too. These players account for 47 TDs.Yeah, for a Foundation Piece: a Starting Caliber Left Tackle
I agree here, the interior of the line should be pretty solid. They need tackles.Between Robinson (in Y2), Onwenu, Strange (back from injury), J Andrews (back from injury), D Andrews (back from injury), and Sow (back from injury), my hope is that we will have three solid players at RG, C, and LG.
Deebo or Garret Wilson come to mind.Id be willing to give up a mid rd pick for a solid wr option. Who’s available though? That’s the rub. People weren’t knocking down the doors clamoring for Jeudy. He turned out to be a risk worth taking. Hopefully he keeps it up. Good turnaround story. Id give up a 2nd for a proven starter that has age on their side.
We should approach the off season, IMO, under the assumption tgatBetween Robinson (in Y2), Onwenu, Strange (back from injury), J Andrews (back from injury), D Andrews (back from injury), and Sow (back from injury), my hope is that we will have three solid players at RG, C, and LG.
SBB.. since my theory of trading for a WR.. ( DK Metcalf please) seems it's starting to generate buzz on the forum.. do you think is travels to Foxboro?Should trade for a LT too.
Love both players. Could you imagine what McDaniels could do with a Jack knife like Deebo.Deebo or Garret Wilson come to mind.
Deebo fell off this year. Garrett Wilson is a completely different story.Love both players. Could you imagine what McDaniels could do with a Jack knife like Deebo.
Oh I get it.. a deeboo that fell off is still better than any current patriots WR on the roster... Wilson absolutely a baller.. top 5 WR in the league.. woody would never trade him to us..Deebo fell off this year. Garrett Wilson is a completely different story.
Because the draft has worked so well for that over the past 5 yearsNO
Draft is that way to go.
For JMIII? woody needs a QB. Wilson is disgruntled and might leave in FA in 12 months.Oh I get it.. a deeboo that fell off is still better than any current patriots WR on the roster... Wilson absolutely a baller.. top 5 WR in the league.. woody would never trade him to us..

Gimme DK or DJ.. gladly take either or.Doubtful nyj would trade Wilson here though, and zero chance he hits fa.
Some good names I’ve seen are metcalf and dj moore.
