Now we get to see if Kraft is cheap or shrewd

Let us not forget a few other smoking guns nailing this Kraft cheapness accusation shut. This is the same guy who rolls into a cheap Chinese massage parlor in his effing Rolls Royce for a $50 handy. FFS go hire a $5k hooker like a real oligarch you cheap bastid. No one in this thread has also bothered mentioning the continuous hiring of fired reject coaches who are being paid by their former teams so we can hire them for FREE?! This pattern continues on and on and on. It’s ridiculous. They don’t pay up for players, or coaches! How can anyone defend them at this point? And why do so many fans worry about how much a friggin billionaire is paying for players and coaches or worrying about him wasting his money. Give me a friggin break. This guy wipes his arse with $10000 bills. He’s a cheapskate. Case closed.

Sadly for you and others you can't fire the owner, all you can do is make yourself miserable ranting about him.

Since you can't fire the owner, why not pick a new team where the owner is happy to splash the money?

I mean it is spending that determines success, right?

Cleveland splashed $240M fully guaranteed on Deshawn Watson, maybe you'd be happier supporting the Browns.

Watson might not exactly be your cup of tea since he didn't give exotic tarts $5K for his HJs, but still, look at all that money!

Dallas splashed $240M (not fully guaranteed) on Dak Prescott, maybe you'd be happier supporting Jerrah and dem Cowboys.

Atlanta splashed $180M on Kirk Cousins, maybe you'd be happier supporting the Falcons.

New Orleans splashed $150M on Derek Carr, maybe you'd be happier supporting the Saints.

New York splashed $112M on Aaron Rodgers, maybe you'd be happier supporting da J-E-T-E.

So many ways for you to be out of your (and our) misery, maybe give one a try...

None of these teams have won a Super Bowl in the last 15 years, but at least they spent a lot of money and that's the important thing.

and TEN spent a huge amount in 2024 free agency. Perhaps, they are a good choice for those who want to spend.

I’m not obsessed with the spending per se but when you suck this bad, can’t draft, and hire incompetents in all spheres, all the while spending the least money in the NFL(despite being the 2nd most valuable nfl franchise), then you have a serious problem. I’m literally hoping to publicly shame these guys into making some positive changes because I want my team to be good and not continue sucking this bad. Going along with blind support and accepting status quo isn’t working too well these past 5 years.

Problems? Yes. Sucking? Yes. Incompetence? Yes. Tied to spending? Dubious, IMO.

For instance, here's the top 10 teams in terms of cash spending for 2025 salaries:

Do you see a strong correlation between spending and success?

I don't.

I see some good teams, some bad teams, and some meh teams in that list.

People find one number that they think is meaningful, but I think it's not very meaningful.

Again, over the last 10 years PHL spent 19% more than us on player salaries but got one less SB win and one less SB appearance.

Blaming it all on low spending is IMO lazy analysis.

I blame it on an owner who kept a coach who lost his fastball too long, despite some obvious signs he was in serious decline, such as putting a defensive coach and a special teams coach in charge of his offense and promoting his sons to key positions. The same owner then used his gut instinct to decide to put a guy who had no head coaching experience in charge of his billion dollar asset. The draft results link directly back to the people making the draft picks i.e. BB and Wolf. I don't see how spending 19% more on player salaries fixes any of these things.

Having the worst child care, dining facilities, workout room, cramped plane seats etc can be a net negative for attracting or keeping free agents. It's not just about low spending on player personnel. A player in negotiations might be willing to take a smidge less and pay more in state tax if he and his wife really like the area... but the Kraft's have to make an effort.

It really annoyed me when I saw what the plane seats looked like, cramming massive dudes together on a plane could effect outcomes on the field. Spring for some oversized first class seats, spread them out.

Beyond that the team should spend to the cap like it has always done, that's the best way to field a competitive team every year.
