I FULLY entrust Vrabel to run the Patriots defense. That is one part of the team Mayo failed at miserably.

1) An offensive-minded HC who hires a top DC who hires a top staff on Defense.
2) A defensive-minded coach who hires a top OC who hires a top staff on Offense.

The key is being able to make top decisions in hiring, in developing game plans and in making game decisions.

I wouldn't want Caley if he didn't have two years of being under McVay. He is part of the McVay tree now. That is a good thing.

I am against them bringing back McDaniels. That is a prevailing rumor or speculation if Vrabel is hired. That is moving backwards.

Some Failed HC are good at what they do being Coordinators... Josh is such a man.

I think Johnson would be fine. I just think Kraft's connection to Vrabel and Vrabel's experience getting to the AFCCG will make him Kraft's top choice. I think Vrabel will live with Wolf, which is another thing Kraft will probably want. Though I imagine Vrabel will want final say on personnel.

Well.. I'm not so sure becuase I'm telling you I sense there is already some type of wink agreement in place with Vrabel . On the defensive side yes... I'm saying I have complet confidence Vrabel could have the defense top 10. Especially with adding some pass rushers. All that you said Vrabel has done. I'd be happy with A or B frankly.

Perhaps, just perhaps, the failure was in hiring and not firing Covington. Put another way, if we had hired a top DC, the Defense would likely have been top 15 and NOT the issue.

I'm really willing to give Wolf a shot with a competent HC who can provide him with guidance on what players need to be drafted based on the offensive and defensive system/scheme.

Exactly. I have no doubt a solid line, good ball catchers, a system he is comfortable with can bring out the best in Maye.

Not saying Vrabel can provide that support but the chances are greater with Johnson.
