With the Talent OC's he worked with shows tells me Mike Vrabel won't on the Offense.
But will that OC Vrabel bring bolt for a HC job in a year or 2 and take some staff with them?
vs Ben Johnson is the Oc and Mayes qb coach essentially.

McVay and Shanahan worked out well.
Right, but those teams and GM's were in much different positions than the Pats - right now!
That's what I'm talking about. Not that Ben Johnson won't be good, or turn into McVay... but each person is unique.
And, the Pats can't afford to give another young guy a 1st shot - right after this Mayo disaster.
They need to look for some experience and cache to regain relevance.

I'm torn.

Johnson likely will take the Bears job.. he knows them well and they have a stacked offense. The Bears are literally a coach away from being a playoff team. DJ Moore, odunze, Allen, komet..
Johnson knows every team in the NFCN too. As an OC, he knows where the Bears are weak on defense and what positions need to be upgraded.-

I sure hope there isn't an agreement with Vrabes in place.

For the love of Christ if the Krafts are going to be 100% committed to turning this pile of steaming **** of a team stinking in a different direction, they need to question everything and contrast it to new ideas. Fresh approaches....

Picking Vrabel because of familiarity defeats the purpose of interviewing Johnson.
Well saying some type of verbal agreement it wouldn't doubt me. As we know with Mayo it was already written contractually. Probably not. But again it wouldn't suprise me if Vrabel was hired. No on the coaching abilities I think Vrabel is more seasoned and experienced as far as being a HC and setting a culture. Boy is that needed back here! I like Ben Johnson because he has an innovative offense mind and I'd be confident he could design the offense the way he has it set up in Detroit.

Maybe Campbell has taken Ben under him and taught him how to be a really good HC.

Your absolutely correct! To me, it just feels like Vrabel will be the guy. I'm speaking in totality.. the Patriots culture needs badly resetting. The in-game adjustments, the game planning, the holding players accountable.

I really think it’s Johnson or Vrabel.
I love Joe Brady, I love Kliff Kingsbury, and a few other guys but I think you go with the safe hire in Vrabel or the lottery pick in Johnson.
Unless you can get O’Connell, Mcvay, or Shanny.

The Krafts are leading this search.

Might as well just flip a coin.

I would be happy with either one.

Pats are fortunate that they have a shot at both, some teams are not in the running for either.

Do we throw an interview request at Brady?
I think we would be doing a disservice to not speak with him.

Brady have shown he can match wits with the Best of them.

Except Robert Kraft is right now delivering a press conference and saying Wolf/Highsmith will be there to help make the decision.

This is an Atlanta Falcons fiasco where the current personnel guy (who should be out the door) is tasked with making the decisions alongside the owner.
