Anyone but vrabel please.

Someone offensive minded I beg. We need to keep up with the league otherwise might as well have kept Bill.
I agree, Vrabel is too defensive minded and another from the Pat's past, we need an offensive innovator, like Ben Johnson.

@signbabybrady

If I'm being honest I miscalculated the mayo hiring. I really thought he was a good hire initially. How it's a results based business. The team regressed since week 1. Remember how we all felt after week 1?? I think he's a great guy and of he wants to continue coaching he should take a defensive assistant role somewhere. However give me Vrabel at HC. McDaniels at OC. Mike wilks at DC.

I'm open to Johnson. However we have to look at the entirety of the Patriots situation. Vrabel is a guys who's done it on a high level as a coach. Took that Titans team deep into the playoffs. Ties all over the organization already a current patriots HOF inductee. Vrabel would have the defense looking top 10 like they should have been. The lions defense even when fully healthy is bottom half of the league. Johnson would have to oversee the entirety of the team not just the offense. At this juncture after going through the Ja-rod rust season it's best to have a proven coach in place.

Want Johnson, going to be Vrabel.
I think they'll have to be blown away by someone to not choose Vrabel, and I find that hard to believe can happen in a few hours in an interview.

Reading all the Titans fans online from when he was fired the general consensus is that Vrabel is a middle of the NFL level head coach. Some say he was better than that and a few said he was bad but on average he's an "in and out" coach. You have a good team he'll have a good record, you have a bad team, hell have a bad record. He plays a conservative run first style (or he did with Henry) that kept Titans in games against better opponents. Mostly positive for in game management. Biggest negative is inability to hire and keep quality coaches on the offensive side of the ball. Defensive coaches and planning was good though.

Vrabel has a lot of positives; he is basically what Kraft wanted Mayo to be and he has connections to hire experienced coaches.

I'd prefer the possible homerun choice in Johnson over than the conservative OK choice in Vrabel. But each is a huge step up from Mayo.

Give a coach for whom it’s not the case.
Even BB couldn’t have a good record with a bad team.

Again he had Matt LaFleur and Artur Smith as OC, Two very good coordinators that left to take HC job because they were very good.

Sent you a link regarding Vrabel who he has lined up for OC.

all the noise coming from Cincinnati seems to indicate that Higgins is gonna stay.

If they want a WR1 I think they will need to trade for it. Hire Vrabel and trade for AJ Brown would do it.

I think Metcalf will be available also
Bingo! @PatsFan2 and @signbabybrady
Have been heavily in on this. Dangle the 3rd for judon for DK... and draft T. McMillan. I have full confidence Vrabel and McDaniels can develop polk and baker correctly. Then sign a released vet like kirk or diggs.

Gruden? Yes, no, maybe?

I think Gruden is too impulsive/shoot-from-the-hip for what will be a long, frustrating grind rebuilding the team. I also think, given his struggles over the past several years, that he might be too impatient for a ground-up rebuild which, done right, might well take two years or more. His attention might be more on proving himself than on improving the team in a solid, from-the-ground-up way.

This team is crap. There is a lot of difficult work to be done. I think Vrabel is the best choice, because of his experience and mental toughness. In this important respect, I prefer him to the intriguing but inexperienced Johnson, who I suspect might prefer a different option anyway. I also think the fandom is likely to be more patient through the struggles with Vrabel, whom they know and admire, than they would be with a shiny new object like Johnson, whom they do not really know. All that said, I won't squawk if it's Johnson: I just think Vrabel is the better option in the circumstances. His downside, theoretically, is that he is a "defensive coach." I don't give much weight to this. If he chooses a really good OC - and there are several excellent options - I don't think his background in defense is any problem at all. It might make fans happier to choose someone with a flashy, offensive background, i suppose, but I don't think it's really a valid concern vis-a-vis the team's actual needs.

The sooner Wolf is tossed, the better. The new coach, particularly if it is the experienced Vrabel, must have a say in choosing a GM with whom he can work. The Krafts, who have demonstrated and acknowledged their abysmal skills in matters pertaining to football per se, must have no voice whatever in football matters, which means we need a string GM/HC combo who can work together.

Reading Pats fans online could give you a pretty funny image of Belichick so I would take that with a grain of salt.

I'm as intrigued by Johnson as Vrabel either works for me for several reasons and each has a few reasons to hesitate. Just don't let the dark webs scare you off a good candidate.

It's obvious Vrabel being a Defensive HC have an eye for Great OC's.

If we traded for one like AJ or DK and signed one like Kirk or Diggs maybe we go defense in the draft and go for Abdul Carter or something like that?

Anything is possible with the cap space and draft capital. And we'll probably need to be a little creative to spend 100 mil it might not all be signings.

No. And I feel a little responsible for his name getting thrown around here. I was joking Portnoy had a better coach than Kraft I didn't mean to actually go get him. Gotta do better than that.

Yes! I agree with that. Carter is probably the best defensive player in the draft as well. Also Tyreek his future in Miami he said he's not sure if he wants to stay going forward. We need to keep our eye on his situation. So many options. AJ brown is very interesting.. I think it's probably more likely we get DK though. We can then focus on LT, I think Wallace or Robinson could fill in the RT spot. We need players man.. guys that have to be accounted for.

AJ and Tyreek sounds like a good mornings worth of work let's get Real instead of Wolf.
