It's easy, and only takes a few moments. At least Rust was an actual defensive coordinator, and had actual success in that job. Not 'in name only', as Steve actually ran the defense. Not sure I'd go that far but this is almost as bad.
3-14 is on Mayo. This isn't all on Mayo, the players aren't that good, this goes back to BB's bad drafting and Wolf. Have to start from scratch.
Point is they have to start building from the ground up, get a GM that can draft and a coach that can coach. They need better players.3-14 is on Mayo.
The team's bad. It's not 3-14 bad, not with that QB.
Mayo is 100% a DEI hire. He has zero qualifications to be a head coach. Kraft picked Mayo because he thought picking a black coach, who is by all accounts politically progressive, would put him (Kraft) in the good graces of the holier that thou, better than you, we know what's best for you NFL owners and their ilk in corporate and philanthropic America. Kraft played this hand because he wants to get in the hall of fame. Kraft also picked Mayo because he really had to make up for his prior support of that evil orange man. Notice in Dynasty the only character noted as an orange man supporter was Belichick (the target of the dynasty hatchet job) - not Brady and not Krafty, even though both counted 45/47 as a friend. There's has not been a more ill-qualified head coach since Jeff Saturday, and Saturday was interim. Jerod Mayo has done absolutely nothing before and since his hire to show that he is qualified to be or should be an NFL coach. The f* you talking about? DEI principles...so Kraft didn't hire Mayo because he thought he would be good, he only did it cause he was black?
Wait, why is Bill being blamed for Mayo’s clear incompetence? He’s already indirectly admitted he doesn’t want to do anything, but be a spectator to his assistants. He’s doing this because he doesn’t know what he’s doing. This isn't all on Mayo, the players aren't that good, this goes back to BB's bad drafting and Wolf. Have to start from scratch.
His first press conference kind hinted at that. The f* you talking about? DEI principles...so Kraft didn't hire Mayo because he thought he would be good, he only did it cause he was black?
This team won 4 games last year with Mac Jones and Bailey Zappe. They upgraded massively to Drake Maye this year, largely kept the same team otherwise, and somehow are only at 3 wins with a week to go. Tell me how it’s not all on Mayo? This isn't all on Mayo, the players aren't that good, this goes back to BB's bad drafting and Wolf. Have to start from scratch.
And because Mayo pandered to Kraft's ego well, sickeningly nicknamed him "Thunder" and professed to care about Israel (which apparently is important to Kraft). His first press conference kind hinted at that.
But Kraft hired him because he liked him, worked under Bill, was younger and thought he could reduce his payroll yet keep a part of the Belichick principles in the building.
The team had 4 wins with Bill last year. You can say "well we have Maye". Let's be real, Maye is still going to be held back by the worst WR corp and worst line in the league. There's a clear cap on what Maye will do in this offense. All things being equal, nothing changes on this current team except Bill is head coach, avp remains and Mayo and Steve are working the defense and this team probably has 8 or 9 wins.
Maybe even 10.
Today 100% was the type of mess that is going to give any chance of him getting fired. I'm not sure it will though. I still think Kraft will give him every benefit of the doubt to stick with his plan through at least the first year. If they have even a mediocre loss against the Bill's backups, I think Kraft goes silent and just lets black Monday pass.Till now I didn’t think it was possible, however being on the wrong side of another “40-burger” and Mayo just may be “one & done”….
Patricia was better than the "Proven" BOB By state...It is obviously worse than Patricia, and Patricia had Mac Jones.

This is not a 10 win or even 8 win team with Bill or any other coach. Maybe they get to 5 or 6 with some luck. But this team is just dreadful.
Mayo is part of the problem, but the talent has been the core problem and has been for near half a decade at this point. It's time for people to wake up to that and stop thinking this is some secretly good team that is let down by one person.
The Bills, Chiefs, Chargers, Ravens, Steelers, Eagles, Commanders, Lions, Vikings, Packers are the only 10 or more win teams in the NFL. It's beyond delusional to think that this team is just a coach swap away from having a chance to be in the same tier as them. They don't.
Check how many one possession losses Belichick had last year when we won 4 games. The answer is 8. We will finish this season with less. It's not objectively true. Bill has proven he has no idea what the hell he's doing on offense and our team can't score.Check how many 1 possession loses we have and tell me Belichick isn't doing better vs Mayo.
I'd hate to be the guy who claims Mayo would coach better than Bill.
Also, look at how many times this team has given up 30 points vs how many times last year.
It's not a debate. It's objectively true. Bill would have this same team performing infinitely better.

at 4-6, I'm OK with trading down, but no further than say 8th, but that is only if we have several players almost equal. It's all about BPA. I would certainly consider trading down and taking Graham. Of course, if someone is offering a 2026 first, we should be listening. Moving down to the teens for an extra pick or two in this draft is likely not likely to be worth it.Figuring top 3 of Sanders, Ward, Hunter 5/6 nets us either Tet Carter or Banks.
So many needs. Best plan is to just lose next week giving us options to trade down and accumulate picks.
