Content Post Does anyone think there is a chance Mayo is one and done?

This has an opening post with good commentary and information, which we definitely recommend reading.

I don’t know how many guys are going to be eager to trash a coach who gives Victory Mondays after getting whooped on a game coming off a bye and doesn’t hold me accountable when I suck. I’m sure he’s going to have his supporters.
Pete Carroll had supporters among the players.

Some players’ top priority is not winning, and that is another reason to clean house.

Let those players make their millions on some other team.

This team is a mess but didn’t expect this season to be this bad.
With that said i don’t think mayo gets the boot after one season. My guess is that he will have next year and then Kraft will dump him if he sees no improvement.

Also this upcoming draft is going to be important. The o-line needs fixing and need a playmaking WR. I don’t think Travis Hunter is the answer either…

"I'm not going to talk about specific players" then immediately names a specific player.

F-ing repulsive.

How can the Krafts sit there and allow this to happen? I really would like to know an answer to that. Now he is calling out a player by name after saying he wouldn't.

This dude, is not fit to be a head coach, now or in the future. There is no question in my mind that he isn't fit for the job.

I want Mayo and staff gone but having thought about it more, I don't see Kraft paying BB, Mayo, Wolf and the rest of the staff plus all the new coaches and front office staff. I can't imagine that they would do all that and shell out money for free agents.

Edit: I am not going to talk about the coaches specifically except for Mayo...**** YOU guy

I think you're right. And I think Wolf's job will come down to how well he fixes the Oline and WRs.

I don't know how he went through corporate-level business training as a biz dev VP at Optum and still can't seem to function in front of an audience. At this point, I imagine that whole Optum thing as basically him playing dress-up for a year or two because he is nowhere near the polished, media-savvy, "leader of men" he was billed to be.

Maybe Kraft should make better choices and not meddle?

???

I agree but I am judging Wolf on the job he did with the Oline and WRs this year. After all, these positions were at the top of the list last year so he earned an F this year, right? What reason do we have to think he’ll do better next year?

Free agency was kind of so-so but it was clear a lot of big name receivers weren't coming here, even if they were offered more money. That might change now that Maye is here.

The draft is looking terrible. But every team has bad drafts. If Wolf engineers a second one, I think he'll be shown the door.

Uh huh. Sure: that's relevant. /s
If you knew your Patriot history, which you clearly do not, you would understand how Sullivan losing millions impacted the team.
As for the joke status, we are pretty much there. Enjoy.
I agree, but it is hardly the first time this team has been the butt of the League's jokes.

So when did you become a fan? February of 2002? If you think this is as bad as it has ever been for this franchise, you are phenomenally ignorant of team history.

I really can't say enough good things about Maye. He's 22 years old and always says the right things. He takes responsibility for things that aren't even on him, he publicly backs anyone who is struggling, and he already seems to have mastered the art of talking to the media without providing a controversial soundbite. Maye is basically the antithesis of Mayo and the receivers.

Wolf didn’t spend any money, after years of folks complaining Belichick didn’t spend enough money. The common denominator is Kraft. I blame Wolf for the draft, but I think FA was Bologna Bob’s directive. “I don’t want to spend any money until I have a good team.” Straight out of the John Henry playbook. Like the Red Sox, he thought he had a sold out team with national exposure that will keep the money taking in even if the product is bad.
