Content Post Does anyone think there is a chance Mayo is one and done?

This has an opening post with good commentary and information, which we definitely recommend reading.

Maybe Vrabel has too much pride to be a puppet HC under Kraft.

Vrabel would have more power in the organization than Mayo. Not complete power like BB, but he would be on equal footing with the GM, whoever it is.

Vrabel has a strong personality. He wouldn't mesh with the the GM and it's a matter of time before that wears thin. I like Vrabel and was hoping he'd be HC and Mayo maybe DC when Bill left.

No, the problem in Tennessee was a very inexperienced GM hired by a clueless owner, not Vrabel. Vrabel has philosophy/vision so obviously, he and whoever the GM is would have to be on the same page.

I see 2 different issues. The training/progression of Maye and the overall offense. Overall the offense is #32 in the NFL, while Maye is continually improving. AVP has 1 abysmal performance and 1 great performance. I think AVP is a great QB coach, and way over his head as an OC. If those 2 issues are considered, I would suggest keeping AVP, but not as the OC.
Yeah hard to argue that the offense as a whole is bad. My main worry is swapping OC’s Maye’s first few years. I’d like to see AVP get next year with Maye in year 2 surrounded by hopefully upgraded talent.

I am not worried about Maye switching offensive systems, he is a smart guy. Maybe the WRs and TEs would take time to adjust? I don't think the offensive skill players are Menza candidates.

I agree with this, in the short time we have seen Maye, he comes across as someone with a very high football IQ. Bill would have like coaching him if he had drafted him .

He wouldn't draft Maye, thank God he's not here ruining drafts anymore.
Oh yeah, thank god he isn't ruining drafts because the people we have right now are so fantastic, all the draft picks from last year have just played amazing football till now right ?????
I will take Bill over any of these coaches any day .

Vrabel wanted full power after Robinson, who handpicked Vrabel, was fired. Robinson did a pretty good job drafting 3 Pro bowl and 4 All Pro players. Brought over FA's in Roger Saffold, ST Brynden Trawick, C Ben Jones and DeMarco Murray, who also made Pro Bowl/All Pro. His teams had one losing season in 2022. However, the trading of AJ Brown was the most idiotic move we've seen in recent history which was probably why he was fired.

With that said, Robinson was a guy I was hoping Bill would bring back as he does have an eye for talent. If Vrabel was a consideration, I could see Robinson coming back or Dimetroff who also found some talent in ATL.

I would take Robinson with Vrabel, but would really like to see Ben Johnson in charge with Maye. Those two minds would be exciting.

Vrabel did not want full power, though. He simply wanted input on who the new GM would be so they could work together on the same page. Instead, clueless Amy Strunk hired that idiot Ran Carthon. THEN Strunk decided to dump Vrabel after he appeared at his Patriots Hall of Fame induction during the Titans bye week in October '23.

No. The problem was ownership wore thin with Vrabel and didn't like the fact he went to Foxborough on his bye week and his comments about the organization. That was ultimately why Vrabel was fired from Titans.

You skipped my post immediately preceding this. You give Amy Strunk too much credit for understanding football and ignore the Ran Carthon fiasco, which precipitated things falling apart. Vrabel should never have been fired.
