Our friend arch: doesn't know that RK is known to back track: when the goings gets' tough.
I'm already on to 2025 FA brother.. F this season
What chance does anyone think that SB would come back to be DC?
Good question there. I remember hearing he was offered a chance stay if he so chose too. So I believe everyone in the coordinator spots will be here next season. There won't be any changes until at least next season if things continue on this way.

Brother, on a serious note I feel like we need at least 2 WR'S Higgins and another 6'4 guy in the draft that's pro ready. We need a veteran CB.. chavaious ward in SF.. help at LB, DE, DT.
If I remember rightly, didn't SB and Mayo get on well together and he was offered a post ?
Yes your correct. But SB took the job down in Washington. Also Bill O. Was also offered the opportunity to stick around as well but he said he told mayo he deserves to pick his own staff.
These are big questions.

Who wants to come to New England?

Nick Caley said "No way!!"

This goes all the way up to the top.

This is not a properly run NFL franchise.
Good points! I believe that even with the ****ty coaching they will get FAs. Simply by over paying for example Higgins won't get extended as chase will get the contract and I believe we have the most to offer him.
Two WR's why stop there?? We need Three I'm not high on I forgot the play Pop Douglas. I can name Rookies who are already better than him.
We have to remember pop is a late round pick and a slot WR. Our coaching staff don't know how to properly use him just like gibby. Getting some guys on the outside will allow pop to stay in his natural position.
Kraft did say he was going to fire Belichick after Belichick went 0-2 to start the 2001 season.

And this is with a guy who was proven over many years coaching in the NFL, never mind a neophyte like Mayo.
As I continue to say.. there will be no HC or GM changes until at least next season no Matthew bad posters want changes. You said it perfectly he was ready to fire bill in his second season

Trading Judon for a bag of magic beans has a lot to do with it. The Pats have zero pass rush. Aside from playing the Bears without their three top tackles, they have not out any pressure in the QB.

No pressure equals no rushed throws, no mistakes, no misreads.

I was actually referring to coaches and personnel guys. No one wants to come here.

We're not as bad as Carolina, but look what happened there. They went with an barely known guy because no one else wanted the job. Of course, that coach is actually doing pretty well. Sometimes you cans tumble onto a decent coach, just like the Lions did.
Oh ok there I got thinking again LOL.. well they current regime have no choice but to get better. Becuase as you perfectly mentioned in your other posts Kraft was ready to fire BB I'm season 2.. a man with a pedigree at that time.

Judon is benched in Atlanta so...the bag of magic beans is pretty great. Considering they can use that third to help them move up in the draft, if they need to.

I liked judon. He mis-managed his whole contract situation and allowed his emotions to get the best of him. He should have taken the 15 million wolf offered him and stayed here. Now he's benched without a new deal.

Two of our most dependable players are playing worse than they ever have.

In the last two weeks, the Patriots gave up 6 straight touchdowns with members of the defensive backfield completely out of position. We saw 2 guys defending trips right last week, we saw Jones isolated and burned for a TD when Dugger had to break down and cover two open WRs in the flat, we saw Dugger on the line with no deep safety. This week Jones took over free safety and he seemed hesitant and unsure of what he was supposed to be doing. Dugger made a bad read and missed the RB out of the backfield. It's been a mess.

What can you say when formerly dependable players are doing this?

Two years ago Kyle should have been in the Pro Bowl after making multiple pick 6s, causing fumbles for TDs, making so many hard hits behind the line and just wrecking teams.

Now he's playing worse than he did when he as a rookie.

The lazy take is to blame the players and say he was a bad signing (as if that matters when we're 50m under the cap).

During the game thread I heard about the lack of talent on defense. Whether or not that's true is irrelevant and besides the point. The bigger problem is that these same players, without Gonzalez out there, have played so much better in the recent past. That should be the focus. Not the talent level.

I was blaming Wolf for the poor signing of Jaylinn Hawkins who has been making bad reads constantly at Free Safety. Now I'm second guessing what I said after seeing Jon Jones back there. Now I'm thinking Hawkins might actually be a fine player but he's lost in all of this.

I'll entertain any theories except for talent level. If you want to say Brian Belichick is purposefully sabotaging the defensive backfield, then make a case. I'll listen to that before I listen to any arguments about talent.
Now that is a crazy thought.

Dugger is a box safety.. he's exposed without peppers..
It's this.
Dugger and Mapu having to play deep safety way too much, that's not their game - and Covington is either blind or stupid not to recognize that when he's calling Cover 2 after Cover 2.

The man team playing almost exclusively zone - with box corners playing deep safety. You know in the Bears game, Jonathan Jones was playing deep safety, and they actually looked pretty good - so let's change that and put our best tackler 20 yards from the LOS on every play. Sheer genius.

Absolutely correct on this. I've said in numerous post that even with guys out covington should have these guys playing better and more fundamentally sound. Tavai, j. Jones, Marcus are all playing out of natural positions. I look at the GB/Miami game last night and the GB defense sniffled them. It's the coordinator that's the problem in NE. Dugger is elite when he's up around the line and or 7,8 yards off. Putting him at deep safety is a waste.

Dugger has checked out and is just collecting a check. he got his contract this year so he isn't worried. He could have easily had a pick 6 yesterday on that pass in the end zone but I guess he didn't feel like running a 100 yards.
Thank you. Not every mistake is a result of bad coaching. In fact, most aren't.

Coaching, you can have all the players you want. Doesnt matter if your cant put the guys in the best position to succeed. Im a michigan fan, going through the same thing with our defense this year.
