What's happening with Kyle Dugger and Jon Jones and what it means...

I feel you. More fight in the team would definitely go along way. The secondary outside of gonzo it's such a liability right now. They are constantly in zone becuase they can't rush the passer. Barmore getting back to form helps alot. But this team is also so banged up as well.
What chance does anyone think that SB would come back to be DC?

I’m thinking that it’s not just the players checking out and it’s the D’s scheme doing this. Not adjusting to things falls into the coaches and I am sure the players see/know that it’s going on and play accordingly. If I was in a position/job where they weren’t adjusting to something like a crypto sales forecast and not investing properly because your firm thinks meme coins are the way to go this minute and want to hear nothing about how btc is blowing up, I would be the same way these guys are. Basically checking out and saying **** you to “management”…

I'm already on to 2025 FA brother.. F this season

Good question there. I remember hearing he was offered a chance stay if he so chose too. So I believe everyone in the coordinator spots will be here next season. There won't be any changes until at least next season if things continue on this way.

If I was Steve B I wouldn't go near this franchise until they were ready to make me HC, give me the same authority BB had, and included a poison pill clause that would make it extremely painful to fire me.

Brother, on a serious note I feel like we need at least 2 WR'S Higgins and another 6'4 guy in the draft that's pro ready. We need a veteran CB.. chavaious ward in SF.. help at LB, DE, DT.

If I remember rightly, didn't SB and Mayo get on well together and he was offered a post ?

These are big questions.

Who wants to come to New England?

Nick Caley said "No way!!"

This goes all the way up to the top.

This is not a properly run NFL franchise.

Yes your correct. But SB took the job down in Washington. Also Bill O. Was also offered the opportunity to stick around as well but he said he told mayo he deserves to pick his own staff.

I have been watching the Patriots RELIGIOUSLY since the 1970s. This has been a huge part of my life.

I am very willing to wait 5+ years for this franchise to win again.

IF ONLY I had any confidence whatsoever in a plan.

The last several years give me no confidence in ownership for several reasons. It all starts there. If ownership can't get it right, then coaching won't be right, then play on the field will suffer.

Personnel is irrelevant until the building blocks are set.

Drake Maye may be the best QB in the NFL over the next 3 or 4 years, and it won't matter.

Not even Tom Brady could've saved the Jete!

Good points! I believe that even with the ****ty coaching they will get FAs. Simply by over paying for example Higgins won't get extended as chase will get the contract and I believe we have the most to offer him.

Two WR's why stop there?? We need Three I'm not high on I forgot the play Pop Douglas. I can name Rookies who are already better than him.

The Krafts are by nature the same kind of meddling owners as ruin many a franchise. Twice they have gone against their nature, hiring Parcells and hiring BB, and it paid off big time for them. They need to recognize this and go against their nature again. This will be tough for them.

It puts me in mind of the opening sequence from the old Kung Fu tv show, where Grasshopper, in order to become a shaolin priest has to pick up the red hot flaming hibachi with his bare forearms. It's gonna hurt like hell but if you want to reach your goal it must be done.

We have to remember pop is a late round pick and a slot WR. Our coaching staff don't know how to properly use him just like gibby. Getting some guys on the outside will allow pop to stay in his natural position.

They can Correct it on Black Monday 2025... they'll be quite a few guys who are more qualified than Mayo. IF the Krafts let that ship sail just to appease Mayo: I'm going really do some serious soul searching about continuing to follow this Team. Like you said we all like Maye but not even him can overcome Mayo and Wolf both unqualified.

To answer the subject of this thread:
Dugger should be converted to the kind of LB they want in the "Takitaki" role. He could put some weight on, and be an enforcer, that could cover RB's & TE's if needed. Basically switch roles with Mapu, who seems faster and better cover guy than Dugger.
Jones might need to be full time FS, and we draft or sign a true #2 outside corner. Let Marcus handle the slot.

Kraft did say he was going to fire Belichick after Belichick went 0-2 to start the 2001 season.

And this is with a guy who was proven over many years coaching in the NFL, never mind a neophyte like Mayo.

I was actually referring to coaches and personnel guys. No one wants to come here.

We're not as bad as Carolina, but look what happened there. They went with an barely known guy because no one else wanted the job. Of course, that coach is actually doing pretty well. Sometimes you cans tumble onto a decent coach, just like the Lions did.
