PATRIOTS NEWS Reiss: Jabrill Peppers reinstated

Defense desperately needs his physicality and leadership, nice.

Peppers is likely just above the Talent threshold where teams rationalize with "innocent until proven guilty" (which, I believe should be the standard), and giving 2nd/3rd chances (see Tyreek Hill).

Hate to say it but if he was a PS player he'd have been cut the day he was arrested. I also know nothing about what happened but strangling a wife/gf isn't a good look on a franchise in turmoil...

I have to imagine the video evidence almost completely exonerates him if it's enough to take him off the exempt list entirely and also reinstate him immediately.
Then why wasn't it given to the NFL right away?

First - I hope it was all made up. It makes it weird for the whole organization to give Peppers the hero's return as the leader of the D that we desperately need. But, wouldn't it be something if he plays most of this game and we get the D's swagger back.
Even after being out for 7 games, he could jump back in and be much better than Dugger has been.
Lets go!

So we should have got him back for the Dolphins. We'd have won with him lol.

He said ... she said ...
None of my business.

Peppers though he's an A-hole is still > Duggar.

Doesn't mean he is going to play. Remember, just because the NFL re-instated him doesn't mean the Pats will. Especially with the trial not happening until January. My guess is they IR him or whatnot.

I just can't see them playing him before the legal issue is resolved.

I agree, they won’t chance it.

Expecting Goofball to dock us 2 1st round picks and a 2nd in 2025. Maybe throw in that Kraft was tampering as well and dock 15mil just in case.

I think it probably does. Wouldn't Kraft just ask for him to stay on the exempt list if they didn't want him back.

Happy to see him back on the field.

No, I don't think it works that way. Remember Christian Peters? Dude was gone in a flash. The coke thing is whatever imo, Chung had the same thing iirc. DV is a no go for Kraft or it at least used to when Myra was still around.

I think they will probably evaluate during the bye week, Peppers will talk to the team and they will decide that they know him well enough to trust him to be out there for the final 4 games of the season with the guys. He will stay out of trouble for a month. Then he can have his court date in January after the season is over and they will deal with whatever happens with that next season.
