Does anyone think there is a chance Mayo is one and done?

1. Kraft is too thin-skinned to fire Mayo, because that would mean that he would have to admit that he made a terrible hire for a ludicrous reason (trip to Israel before Mayo had coached for a single day) and he won't be willing to do that.

2. He is too cheap to pay another head coach not to coach for his team.

3. Bob would not like the optics of firing an African-American coach after one year and replacing him with Vrabel, because he is all about public perception and wanting to be loved.

So…How about B Flo? That would help him preserve his beloved street cred. Then he could bring back Josh to run the offense and be a mentor to Maye.

My expectations for this coaching staff were lower than most here, and my criteria for success for them was less than most. I was looking to see them play hard and play clean games, and while playing hard is more difficult to discern playing clean isn’t, and the penalties are inexcusable. The offensive line penalties are maddening, and I’m really sick of them. I find it hard to give a coaching staff only one season, but I won’t complain if they get the hook.

Absolutely not. They need to keep Maye in the same offensive system, and Flores sucked as a head coach. If they replace Mayo they need to hire a long term answer, and I don’t want them going back to an Erhardt-Perkins timing offense. I want them to stay a West Coast offense, and the next coach needs to be one they can live with for a. Minimum of 5 seasons. Turning into one of the franchises that change head coaches and systems every year or two is a recipe for sucking year after year after year.

I mean you had a guy on offense line up in the neutral zone (that was wiped out by a holding penalty on the same play). That just shouldn't happen in the NFL. Hell, that shouldn't even happen in Pop Warner!

What is going on at 1 Patriot Place? Did they forget to practice this past week?

And then got litigious when he was let go.

Did we ever hear anything about the results of that lawsuit?

Agreed that they need to keep a west coast scheme, but that shouldn't be hard to do.

I do wonder how much of those "Kraft calling around about developing Maye calls" have to do with such a question. "If we fire Mayo soon/in January, how important is it to keep the same scheme?" Things of this nature.

I could see hiring Vrabel with a young WC system offensive coordinator. But then they should tune out the fans completely and stick with him long term.

I’m not sure what the legal specifics were, but I thought he was telling the truth about Ross telling him to throw the season. And the league just swept it under the rug.

Beat writers are saying there was a weird “vibe”
In the locker room & the players have quit on Mayo.

They scored the last two touchdowns.

I thought the players fought in the second half considering..............

What beat writers?

Maybe not quite there yet but he’s doing a fabulous job making the case!
