My main concern for the past couple weeks, and I suspect for the remainder of the year, has been that Drake Maye not get injured behind our crap o-line, running all over the place waiting for our ill-trained, substandard receiving corps to get sorta open. From that perspective, this is a pretty worrisome week. I frankly don't much care whether we win or not. I want Drake to stay healthy, and I suppose I'd like to see some development somewhere on the roster, but that's probably a vain hope until the Krafts manage to get a management team in place including a competent GM who can get better players and a competent head coach who can develop them. Until that happens, we are just to going to restart the "rebuild" each into the indeterminate future. Meanwhile, if you were Drake Maye, would you be looking forward to re-signing with this team? These favorable rookie contracts are over before you know it.

@turkeyneck I've really soured on the defense becuase they aren't getting the coaching to make them better, they aren't playing for one another, not playing smart, not turning offenses over and they aren't playing with any type of pride.
lol " Other than that..."

He's got 4 more years on his deal (assuming they pick up his 5th year option which is extremely likely). If they give Mayo/Wolf another year or two, you still have, at worst, 2 more years on his rookie deal. Then you're going to have to pay him. The Chiefs seem to be making it work with paying Mahomes. I'm sure they can make it work with Maye unless the team is in an even worse state than it is now after 4 years.

Great points. I fully expect the team to surround Drake with playmakers in the offseason and add guys on defense as well. Drake is such a humble, team first guy. I believe his make up, his mentality will always allow him to be level headed and try and be the best leader he can be. I think the only way Drake doesn't take the 60 million when it's time to pay him is if this team doesn't improve the roster significantly..
