AFC 7th seed discussion

I'm concerned about Maye, not because of the OL problems that were discussed ad nauseum here, but because of the way he runs with the ball. He needs to knock off the **** and learn how to avoid the hits or he won't last. Luckily, we don't have the Steelers on our schedule this year. They're as dirty as they get and wouldn't hesitate to try and take him out, like they tried with Brady and did with Carson Palmer.
Yeah the hits he takes necessarily are what concerns me. He reminds of Josh Allen as a rookie. Allen was the exact same way as Drake. Mayo and AVP have both said he needs to learn how to protect himself.. in the middle of the feels whenever a QB decides to run they are considered a runner so the QB protections don't come into play. He just needs to get out of bounds get the yards your can get and go out of bounds.

I have always leaned towards optimism, but they will not reach the playoffs with an offensive line playing as poorly as their offensive line has played.

Two games back is deceiving.

They are fighting for this single playoff spot against half the teams in the AFC.

Odds are someone will put together a second half of the season streak, and really does anyone think it's them?

That's what I'm trying to compute . Are we really 2 games out if playoff contention? Has to be a joke right?

If they beat Miami and Tennessee like they were supposed to then this would absolutely be a conversation.

If the Pats can go on a run of some kind then they can certainly insert themselves into the conversation. Their upcoming slate:
- Home vs Rams
- Away @ Dolphins
- Home vs Colts
BYE
- Away @ Cardinals
- Away @ Bills
- Home vs Chargers
- Home vs Bills

If they manage to win, let’s say, 3 out of 4 of the next 4 games then they will be 6-8 and definitely be in striking distance; they may even be in the 7th seed itself depending on how other games have gone by then. They probably will fail to clinch the spot due to the difficulty of the final 3 games, but the chance at that opportunity could push them to steal a win from Buffalo who may have little to play for in the final week, etc.

They have the worst OL in football, according to the data, you can’t be expected to beat anyone when your OL sucks that bad.

Bears gave up 9 sacks yesterday? Ouch.

It would be MORE of a conversation if they were 5-5.

Sorry misread. You're right.

I don't understand how anyone could disagree with this statement.

If they won those games the Pats would actually be the 7th seed.

So there's a chance.

Just saying what's possible, though I don't believe it would actually happen. Is it outside the realm of possibility that this team could beat the Rams, Dolphins, Colts or Cardinals? Or even the Chargers, for that matter? I don't EXPECT them to win any of those, but I wouldn't be totally shocked at this point if they got a couple of wins in there. If they exceed expectations and win more than half of those, then they're probably floating in the conversation for the 7 seed.

Here is our current playoff probability..

To your points. Even if they somehow got to 6 or even 7 wins.. it would be miraculous they do that, but not out the realm of possibilities. It would do so, so much for the culture of the team going forward to end the season with a winning culture . The arrow would be definitely pointing up towards 2025.
