First round QB/LT/WR draft busts and disappointments in recent years

Mac jones is the 2nd worst QB my eyes have ever seen. In his first yr, the opposing coaches figured him out with enough footage. His last 3rd of the season was abysmal.
If opposing coaches figured him out and he didn’t adjust that’s not on him nearly as much as it is on his coaching staff to identify there’s a problem and fix it - and they clearly didn’t.
It was as bad as anything that came afterward.

In the short time he played this year, he managed to turn the ball over on the first play, and on the second he threw a ball that's a pick-6 99% of the time.
He is still mechanically flawed as a result of getting subpar coaching in NE as it would be anywhere eise for anyone else. But he’ll be fine as a backup. Disappointment for a first round pick but that’s where a lot of these guys end up.

This is hilarious.

What adjustments can be made to a very weak arm who can't throw outside and therefore teams crowd the middle, which was his bread and butter in the first half of the season?

You want Belichick to inject super powers in his arm?

What adjustments could be made to a heartless, gutless QB who is very afraid and loses his head at the first sign of trouble? You want Belichick to perform heart transplant surgery on the guy as though he was the Tinman?

Mechanics? Scheme? You've missed the plot. Try gutless and noodle arm.

It’s literally the coaching staff’s job to scheme up a players strengths and hide their weaknesses. If Jones doesn’t have the arm to make certain throws then it’s up to the coaches to design plays that their starting QB can make. That’s literally their job and they didn’t do it. Jones isn’t his own coach. He still has the same mechanical flaws he had coming out of college. That’s a coaching problem. Too bad BB thought hiring his unqualified buddies to run his offense was a good idea for his second year QB.

And like I said before if Jones was always beyond redemption and he never had the skill or temperament to play in the big leagues then the fact Bill drafted him in the first place doesn’t look good on Bill either. It’s one or the other- either the coaches failed him or bill wasted a first round pick on a guy who was never going to make it.

And forget that noise from the uninformed about a cOLLaBoRaTiON forcing Bill to pick Jones. Bill drafted him, he owns it, he wears it, he rides that horse, it’s his and only his responsibility.

LOL...

Yes, let's make a scheme that doesn't use half the field...

Even though our entire scheme until now has been to throw it where they ain't!!

He's a horribly bad QB. You're not going to rehabilitate him.

I mean, put me out there, and then tell the coaches to scheme around my deficiencies.

This is football, not miracle work.

And by the way, how DIDN'T you notice that they changed their entire scheme to hide his deficiencies?

They went to quick throws, screens, WR screens, etc.

Your ability to turn everything into a reason to complain about Bill is really the absolute worst thing going on with this message board right now. I hope you're proud of yourself Fireman Ed.

I blame Bill for that.

Not as much as I blame Mac Jones though cause he’s like the worst person ever. Or something.

Then why did Bill draft him if he was always that bad.

Truth is he wasn’t but coaching stupidity made him that way.

Jones might be able to play in the league with the right team and coaching around him. There’s enough evidence of that in his first year. That’s not a bust. And he didn’t get any of that his last two seasons here. He was a disappointment for a first round draft pick.
He's high maintenance in that he needs things to line up in order be effective - such as coaching, skill players surrounding him and a good defense. He was competent in his first year, but he's not that guy that can compete when things go off script as they did late in his rookie season.

It's funny how Mac was the problem when the team was also complete garbage, but now the team is the problem for Maye who only got his first victory last week from a technicality.

Add Slow Polk to the WR Bust List I'm calling it.

Trevor Lawrence is average at best.
In eagles game he looked horrible
Supposedly a generational talent whe drafted
But he isn’t
