The pressure on Mayo is going to continue to build... If anyone thinks that it will blow over with a win, they are mistaken...
Week In Week Out, same story...
The team is unprepared
The team makes bad decisions
The team has no situational awareness
The team has poor clock management
The team lacks fundamental skills
The team lacks discipline

That is a result of poor coaching. There is no accountability anywhere. Mayo doesn't know what he is doing, or if he does his players aren't listening
And, with Maye now playing behind a horrible OL and incompetent coaching staff, if he had the makings of a Franchise QB (which it looks like he has the legit potential), he''ll get ruined physically and be a serious cautionary tale of what not to do with a potential Franchise QB.

@RobertWeathers thinks the defense is lagging last year's performance due to injuries. You think the defense needs some breathers. Are there any other reasons our 2024 defense has noticably collapsed from 2023? Maybe the collapse is not real and it is only BB lovers that are creating this mirage? Any other excuses?
The excuses are getting out of hand. The defense hasn't been talented for quite some time and these players been holding on for dear life in Bill's scheme. Now that he's gone, the cracks are getting larger as Mayo has to game plan all by himself.

The early 2000's Ravens had the ****tiest offenses with terrible QB's, yet their defense had the talent and pride to continually go out there and do the best job they could no matter the circumstances. While the wind did help him, the 2007 Ravens gave the Pats a big scare.

We saw the minute Mayo opened his mouth at his first press conference, that hiring him was a terrible idea. One of the first things he says is that he's building his team based on "diversity." Mayo said he wanted the skin color others of his locker room to look like the world. That was an immediate red flag that this was just going to end up being very bad. Pretty odd comments from a head coach that is just supposed to go out and hire the best coaching staff and hire the best players.
That's why I've always referred to D.E.I. as D.I.E. (because it has gotten, is getting, and will get people killed). And on an NFL Team, it'll kill the career's of players and coaches (although I'm more concerned about the possibility of the very the few good players that we have, especially Maye getting ruined physically and otherwise).

Don't throw shade on thunda kat!

Bill needed to go. I feel the game passed him by with regards to what teams were trying to do across the league. He did not want to adapt to how other teams were playing and evolve. I think Bill always thought he was the smartest guy in the room and maybe he was but the team suffered because he was not a fan of new, outside Foxborough ideas and concepts. I personally think that he thought he was so smart he could continue to win with anyone coaching and the kids from Foxborough High taking the field. But hey he called the shots during the most prolific dynasty in the modern days sports era and I'm just a dude on a forum
I love Bill, but his time to go had come. But what we have now is a nightmare.

I don't think he was ready (maybe never will be) and was rushed into the position with limited experience which all came from one source. I saw red flags at his first press conference just on based on what he said. Maybe he gets it together, takes his lumps and learns moving into year two. But I personally don't think he will be the HC for more than a few years. I hope I am wrong!
I hope you're wrong to. But, if he's as bad as it seems by the end of the season (and that's hoping that Maye didn't get something blown-out), Mayo and whoever else shouldn't get a 2nd season. Tear of the band aid if needs must.

Deron is the strength and conditioning coach for the Patriots ... You know the position that is most closely tied to injury avoidance thru proper strength and conditioning programs...

So you tell me what it has to do with the Patriots
I'm going to guess that it has a lot to do with it?

We wouldn’t have fired Bill Belichick 3 games into his first season with the Patriots, you would have decided he sucks and would have.

Agree. Mayo needs to quit deferring to Wolf and AVP and make his own decisions

On one hand, you have Kraft's massive ego and his reluctance to admit he made a huge mistake with Mayo. But on the other, he's old. He wants to win another SB or two before he rides off into the sunset. We're going to find out which is more important to him: riding the Mayo train for another 2-3 years until it completely derails in hopes of salvaging his ego, or jettisoning him at the end of the season to set the stage for one more SB run with a talented HC and a new franchise QB. If he extends the timeline, he can kiss another SB goodbye. It will be interesting. It's obvious Mayo isn't up to it.

Why would I have decided that?

Why would I have decided that?

Because you clearly think that Wolf and Mayo should have turned the team around overnight, and are crying like hell that they haven’t. Newsflash, it takes more than one offseason and a few games to turn a really bad team around, and using that same standard Belichick never would have made it through his first season.

He isn’t going to get ruined. Thats the biggest BS misconception in football.

You understand that the win/loss record has zero impact on the criticism right? He is being given a pass for the record.

Newsflash - the draft does not take time to turn around. Right now the picks look weak. Maye looks good and Robinson might work out, and Polk might work out, but it is never going to be a good draft. I am sorry that you can't face reality. Even if Polk works out, his ceiling is a more athletic Jacoby Myers - clearly not a 2nd round pick.

If you want me to be excited about the Pats offense, maybe we can run one good screen play. Remember when the defense would gather on the sidelines to review the plays and regroup? What happened to that? Have you seen a single instance of correcting and adjusting the defense during the game? The number of penalties, the lack of motion, play action has never worked out, and our RBs rushed for 44 yards last game. Get back to me when the Pats put a real product on the field. It is not the results that are disappointing, it is the simplicity of the offense and defense and the undisciplined play. We are going backwards.

Posters that defend Mayo and Wolf always assume that anyone that does not like the product on the field is a BB supporter. It is like the people that reflexively call others "racist" when they run out of any reasonable talking points (@ahmed for example). You are obsessed with BB and want to project your obsession on others. Grow up and look at the product on the field. If the coaches turn it around that would be good. So far the coaches have simplified the offense and defense and lack fundamentals and discipline. Sorry, that is what has happened through the first 6 games.
