No there haven't been reports of that. But while you bring it up, different strength and conditioning coaches have different ways of handling players. Maybe it has nothing to do with deron mayo... maybe its all just back luck and timing... but what if it isn't? Given the rash of injuries, the question begs to be asked. Maybe there is nothing there, but the guys with access owe the team, players to at least ask the question and look into it, no? Can't just bury your head in the sand and expect the problem to go away...Have there been reports of Mayo telling the guys to stop lifting weights and running up the hill? This is a pretty tenuous and unsupported assertion. The guy's a first year head coach. It's game 6 of his first year and you already have noted he was left a pretty bare cupboard to work with. No, he's not immediately become a Master Chef, but if you expected that, then this was on you and your unrealistic expectations. Let them grow, and let him show what he can do. Why did so many start panicking as a fanbase when it was clear our expectations for this season were very low? I'm happy where we are and don't care if we lose every game from here on. We're rebuilding with a few decent pieces, several of whom are injured.
I don't know what you expect from a coach - but I expect a lot more than what has been going on here. Regardless that he is a rookie coach its his responsibility, it is his job to make sure the team is prepared. The results have not been there. basic fundamentals seemingly have gone by the wayside...
The excuse of "he's new" only goes so far. After jettisoning BB, with all the issues we knew this team had - it screamed we need leadership who knows what it is doing, who knows how to walk the rebuilding path vs the bundle of inexperience we have roaming the sidelines.
