I guess the idea is to let Thornton get a TD or two to raise his trade value while leaving Bourne and Osborne inactive. If you're starting Drake Maye, put Tyquan Thornton back in the starting lineup.
They may still have difficulty throwing deep but Thornton can stress defenses and Drake can reach him.
I am hoping that this isn't a way to bury the Peppers arrest but selfishly I am happy. This team has become so predictably inept they're tedious to watch. Just give us some hope.If they think he is ready, I am all for it. If they are rushing his timeline because Brissett is a disaster, I think it is stupid.
Don't rush him so the Pats can win a few more games in a lost season. That is just silly.
But they feel he has gotten his footwork down, understands how to read defenses at the NFL enough, etc. then playing him will be worth it for his development.
Sitting him or playing him, my opinion is the same. The #1 priority this year is his development. Wins and losses are irrelevant.
The last QB who was called that turned out to be more of a "Viserys" so let's hope not.
So, your idea is to wait to see whether we get a true #1 in the draft before we decide whether to sign a top WR?And if we get a true #1 with the draft haul we get in 2025…we won’t need Higgins.
That's often fluid at this point. There's still over half a season of college football left. Then the playoffs and bowls. Then all the combine madness. By the time the draft rolls around there is usually consensus number one.I would rather get a haul like Chicago got from Carolina. Unfortunately, I don’t think there’s any QB that has separated himself. I’ve looked at a lot of mocks and they’re all over the place. I’ve seen guys like Sanders, Beck, Milton at #1 overall and mid to late first in others. Maybe, that will change.
Agreed. I find the timing moronic.1 week too late or 1 week too early.
God knows why they didn't just play him against the Dolphins in the most winnable game you'll ever see, the Texans just held Josh Allen to 9/30 passing.

If they benched him because they want to trade him, they'll get nothing for him either way.I guess the idea is to let Thornton get a TD or two to raise his trade value while leaving Bourne and Osborne inactive.
