Wait… Amendola’s counted but Polk’s didn’t?

It coukd be worse.

Burrow threw for 400 yards and 5 TDs and lost.

Flacco threw for 359 yards and 3 TDs and lost.
How is that worse? At least watching that would've been fun... The Patriots have been a terrible, absolutely boring product for the last 3 seasons including this year's trainwreck

Maybe I’m biased for starting Maye but I feel like SO much of the pressure and offensive ineptitude is on Brissett. Even on successful plays he’s SO slow in his reads. There was an early 3rd down that he passed up a wide open Demario Douglas for a pitch and catch first down over the middle only to screen it to Stevenson and force him to break two tackles, which he did. He’s making everything harder.

The line wasn’t good today but it was good enough to make plays with a good quarterback.

Does anyone know why that was not a TD? I didn't hear the explanation

I don’t think the line was that bad. They had some bad plays but they also had a lot of plays where Brissett had plenty of time. He’s just slow as **** and scared as ****.

How on any planet is a toe not enough in the end zone. Give me a break if polk had landed on his back first to counts how stupid is that
Every toe catch on the sidelines I've ever seen has been a TD. I don't understand this one

The rule that was applied was the toe-heel rule," said Stewart. "What happened was he did have one foot down in the field of play and at the completion of the second step, he had his toe in the field of play, but his heel came down on the white line out of bounds. So, he did not have two feet in bounds at the conclusion of the catch."

why can’t we get guys like Jonnu Smith

Correct. The entire step counts. Toe taps work because the toe is the only part that touches the ground on that step
Thank you.

That seems like a very questionable rule to me. I cannot remember which game it was but there was a WR that was on the sideline and came down with a foot and heel in bounds but then his toe came down out of bounds and it was ruled a catch. It was a few years ago, has this rule changed or under gone modification? It might have been a Tampa game, not sure though.

This was a bad play.

I’m sick of watching these games, having Brissett look like total ****, then after the game having a reporter ask about that and why they aren’t playing Maye and Jerod always answers with something along the lines of “Listen, Jacoby is so tough, so…. He’s our guy”

Why the hell do I care if he’s tough? Yes he’s very tough but you don’t win games at QB by being tough, you win games at QB by throwing the football well. And that’s all they ever say, is that he’s tough. He has nothing else.

Not even close. Amendola took two steps before going out of bounds.

Enough with this. They gave offers to players for more money than other teams and they got turned down.
Like who? Ridley went to a state with lower taxes so effectively the offer in Tennessee was higher than the Pats.

Aiyuk turned down the Browns, the Steelers, and the Pats and resigned with the 49ers. Aiyuk was never leaving the 49ers, it had nothing to do with the Pats' offer.

Who are these mysteriously players that turned down the Pats for less money?
You don't massively overpay, thats just bad business so you are left with this.
In FA you always have to overpay. Every team except the Pats do it. We do not have TB12 anymore, so how do you expect to win a SB if the Pats can't overpay in FA?
So, whom would you have massively overpaid for or held hostage until they signed a contract? They've had one free agency, one draft. Oh and all those LT or offensive lineman that are FA? Huh everyone else in the league with crap lines isn't signing them either.
Tyron Smith, Morgan Moses, and John Simpson. None of them were a gross overpay and all three would have greatly helped our OL.
You don't wave a magic wand and fix your team overnight. Might work in the NBA or MLB, but it doesn't in the NFL.
The Washington Commanders say Hi! The Commanders were 4-13 last year, and are 4-1 in 2024. The Commanders hired experienced coaches, had good drafts with a real GM, and are playing their rookie QB. Do you get embarrassed when you are completely wrong?

Brissett needs to start thinking about his old age. If he keeps taking beatings like this he'll be a cripple or end up like Muhammad Ali.

Thank you.

sideline and endzone rules are two different animals

Mayo’s press conferences sound moronic. “It’s about execution” for every answer. Bud, who is responsible for making sure the team is executing??

Quick question. Let's say Henry saw someone from the Pats close to him but behind. Would the clock stop if he tossed a lateral towards that player but it went behind him out of bounds? Would there be a penalty?

I think the rule says that there has to be a 10 second runoff, so the clock would have runout. If Henry could not get out of bounds, he could have purposedly dropped the pass so the Pats could have tried a Hail Mary.

He knows the plan. Play Brissett until he gets hurt, then play Maye or play Brissett the whole year and play Maye in 2025 when they've hopefully stabilized the O-line.

I think the plan might be to play Brissett until we are 2 or 3 games in last place, like 1-8, and then play Maye so it he wins a few games we still have the #1 pick.

ROFL. You just made my points by trying to counter them. They had guys said no to coming here, a la Ridley, Aiyuk etc. I am sure Smith, Moses etc all said the same thing. What would you do as I said? Kidnap them? Force them to sign?

Yes you overpay for FA, thats the name of the game. You don't MASSIVELY overpay, like I stated but of course you missed that.

The Commanders are a unicorn and it remains to be seen what happens there. Their rookie QB is also 24 years old, played 6 years of college ball AND has about double the college games that Maye played.

Does it bother you when you don't read or have any kind comprehension that is above a 1st grader?

I agree. People blaming the line for everything don't watch other games apparently. Mayo can't actually stand up there and say Brisket makes the right reads, gets the ball out on time etc etc. So, he is left to the only thing that is actually true. He is tough as nails. The latter doesn't mean much if you can't do the former.
