I don't agree with that. Mayo said before the season started that ball security was job security. This isn't him bending to outside pressure.
I agree with you, but the narrative will be that he is letting the media dictate his actions. If JB does not play well in the 1st half vs the fish and he puts Maye in the 2nd half I anticipate a lot of people saying that Mayo is trying to avoid the "mutiny".

JB hasn't really played great in any of the games this season and he hasn't pulled him at the half. I highly doubt he's going to do that tomorrow.

You are probably right, but I imagine that they want to start him at some point and now that we are through the worst part of our schedule it seems to me like the idea might be in play. I hope so anyway

The two examples you give of Bill showing his style of discipline led to losses, one of which is still talked about.

This team doesn't have a discipline problem. They have a talent problem.
Got it. So you're just going to come up with a way to have it both ways.

We'll have our 5th starting OL this week. Let's have the same OL a couple of weeks in a row before we give Maye serious reps.

On defense losing contain is a lack of discipline. On offense, you’re probably right.

A Mash unit OL Plus no Safeties yeah I think we're getting blown out.

IDK…maybe that’s too obvious. This one could go either way IMO.

Need some advice. So, my girlfriend needs a ride to the airport at what will likely be around the start of the 4th quarter. My choices:

(A) As a diehard Pats fan, I suggest she "take an uber"
(B) as a realistic Pats fan, I figure the game should be over and suggest "I should be able to .. but leave the door open for an Uber
(C) as someone who enjoys sex, I commit right now to driving her to the airport.

Peppers being out might spell real trouble. Hopefully there’s a chance Dugger can play. Otherwise it’s Hawkins, Pettus and maybe Jon Jones and Schooler playing safety

Definitely Option C, no doubt. This year is a bust.

If it was 2007 I would have booked one of those luxury Ubers for her.

I thought Mapu was activated. I think Mapu plays in front of Pettus and Schooler. Maybe Mapu and Hawkins instead of Peppers and Duggar.

I didn’t see that he was activated to play, only that he was practicing. I could’ve missed it.

Edit: Google says you’re right, he was activated to the 53.

Do you stream the games? Pause it, take her, return, press play.

I've stopped watching many of the other games but I'll keep watching the Pats. I'm a glutton for punishment.
Growing up we watched some bad Patriots football
We always wanted to know what it feels like to be Niners or Cowboys fans
We surpassed that with 20 Brady years
I believe you feel like I do. We are playing with house money
You never know we may strike gold again
I’ll watch and root for them until I’m using the TV remote to open my car doors

(D) Have sex in the Uber while listening to the game

mapu will play some safety

It seems to be that people are saying he has to choose to be a "players friendly" coach or be a disciplinarian. I guess I don't understand why it is one or the other because I now enough people in the pro and college football world to know that a players coach can also be strict.

To clarify, I don't know through experience but 'know' based on things I have been told by coaches at various levels. off the topic but I am very excited to see Kromah, Johnson, Mathis and Roy on the field. Take some reps from Pharms and Eukale, not that they are bad but we need to generate some sacks/pressure with people other than White.

I'm far more excited to see Mapu come back. He will give us the open field coverage that we sorely need. Our problems on D are not up front.

No. I believe that coaches aren't as important as players and the lack of talent is the biggest problem, not a fictitious discipline issue, which btw you provided lousy examples of to make your point about Bill's superiority in that regard. The Pats had a crushing defeat in each game, once vs the Jets at home in the playoffs and the other in the SB vs Philly.

Nobody knows how Mayo will work out but making up negatives about the guy out of thin air is way off target. Let's give him some time before we get in lockstep with every criticism from the media.
