Having your two starting safeties out, your LB green dot guy out for the year, your stud defensive lineman out...what exactly are you supposed to do? Hill/Waddle etc are rought for elite safeties to deal with. Put them against backups...it's a nightmare. Even with Huntley.

Regardless of the QB it’s nerve wracking being down your 2 starting safeties. Only thing that worries me this game.

Mapu is back. That will help.

Thats hard pill for fans to follow, and when they hear screaming from talk radio in Boston (mostly) crying for a "season" whatever that means. Oh yeah it's a euphemism for mediocrity imo and fans latch on to that. In the NFL if you want something more than mediocrity you need to suck, get the right coach and draft properly. Remains to be seen if they have started that at all. I *think* they have.
We would all love to see it. I have said I will be happy with progress this year and that I am on balance pretty indifferent to the win total. The problem to this point, however, is that progress has not been by any reasonable standard acceptable, from the asinine, amateurish "hiring process" for coaches and front office, to the glacial development of the offense. We really do deserve better if they expect any sort of support or even forbearance from the fans. The team blows, and all the happy talk. bloviating coachspeak, and conjuring of the goddam mythological Plan does not suffice.

One of two things happens today:

They win and the noise from the fans/media quiets down

Or

They lose again to a QB named Tyler Huntley and the noise gets extremely loud for Brissett’s benching and Mayo’s exit.
