I read a book when my daughter was a toddler, on child rearing and protecting daughters. Don't remember the name of it. There was a whole chapter on how society values young, breeding age women and much less so older women beyond that age. I think the chapter was basically called "Teenage girls are the prize". That comes off as creepy, but it explained how marketing works and how there's a constant push to youthful women and much less so with men. Experienced, handsome, older men are highly valued. Hollywood pumps out young starlets like they are on an assembly line. It went on to talk about how it was the father's job to protect the teenaged daughter and, basically, be a hockey goalie as the predation increased. It was pretty eye opening.
My point is that
@Wozzy has a point. Society, right or wrong, values youthful women and older men, while older women are cast aside. I'm not passing judgment, just pointing out that Wozzy isn't the first guy to say that.
