Damien Harris speaks out about the dysfunction on the Patriots offense in 2022

“Sabotage” was BB telling Kraft that Mac was not the answer and that he wasn’t good… only to have Kraft tell him to give Mac a real chance with another coordinator.

I remember Bill’s face when Mac was melting down for the 3rd or 4th time (lost count?) in Europe, a slight smirk like “this is what you wanted” as they panned to Jonathan and Bob in the owners box hanging their heads in shame.

When the expert you hired tells you something… believe him.
Maybe Bill should have given that advice to the GM who drafted Jones instead of the owner.

Why did he want them to come back the following year?
That's beyond me. Why did bill make so many other head scratching decisions? Don't get me wrong I don't think the coaching idea was a bright one.. I'm just speaking on what Bill likely felt in his own mind.

Love how Team Bill assumes they know exactly what Bill was thinking and the men that played for his team who have a little more credibility when talking about their HC in fact don’t know what they’re talking about. Lol

Who… Wolf… Jonathan… Bill?

We don’t know who ultimately pulled the trigger on Mac, even if you pretend like you were in the room… you weren’t.

You expect Mac’s college roomate and best friend to do what exactly… slam his buddy?

BB told Harris to take a walk because he was unreliable, now Harris is out of the NFL.

Who should we listen to next, Asante Samuel? Laughable…

Yes we do know who was responsible for the pick…and you know as well. If Bill didn’t like Jones maybe he should have listened to his own advice before the selection.

Phil Perry had reported anyway that Bill himself pulled the trigger on Jones in the draft. /discussion

And yet they still have more credibility to talk about their HC than any fan. The fact Harris is retired couldn’t be any more irrelevant. Bourne who has said the same thing is not retired btw, If players are saying that Jones was set up to fail then Jones was indeed set up to fail by complete coaching incompetence. Nothing else needs to be added.

Bob Kraft said it was a collaboration before the draft, Elliot Wolf was hired… you don’t know sht.

So Mac will be good now according to you… this ought to be fun, if he plays at all.

Collaboration Schmaboration Bill pulled the trigger on the pick, period. Perry reported it and he also reported that Kraft had absolutely nothing to do with it. Read and weep. Jones was Bill’s boy. Fact not opinion.

In the credibility department current and former Patriots opinions on the coach > Team Bill’s opinion.

Kraft announced the collaboration, you suggesting nothing changed when the guy who signed the checks says otherwise is not worth a wet fart in a paper bag in a rainstorm.

Mac’s college roommate and best friend who Bill fired…. yeah, solid source.

And I thought I was imagining things. Lj truly does…I know it’s not the same but didn’t he “earn” a communication degree? I’d like to see some of his graded school work for giggles.
I just believe players talk in a manner of wich they feel is comfortable, and self expressive. Does not necessarily mean anything negative. They still have to read a defense and diagnose plays.. so they still have to be able to a communicator.

Denial. lol

Never ever underestimate what just getting older can do to a coach. At some point, even the BEST coaches just don't want to deal with people that have questions. This includes players AND coaches. Like I've said elsewhere.... basically, by 2022, UNLESS it had worked out beautifully, the hiring Patricia and Judge represented either 1) incredible stupidity to think these guys could handle running a capable NFL offense or 2) stunning arrogance to think that anybody can coach up an offense.

I also love how people are acting like Mac couldn't have improved over the years. Like first year Brady was anywhere near as physical as he became over the ensuing years. That is to say, that with solid coaching, some things can be improved, including arm power. And bringing up that Bills game... look at how Brady performed against the Dolphins in Miami, or Manning against the Patriots... there are some teams, some situations that can catch a QB offguard. Hell, Brady had several games where you could be forgiven for thinking he had finally fell off the cliff.

I'm not saying Mac was going to be the next big thing, what I am saying is that thanks to that mindblowingly disastrous decision, we never had a chance to TRULY figure it out.
I coached kids in baseball for close to 20 years and at one point I knew that I was losing my patience with the kids. I never had it for the parents but when I started to lose it with the kids I knew it was time to move on. And that occurred well before I reached 60, let alone 70.

Great post. You hit on alot of great points. Going back to Mac's rookie season he led the team to 7 straight wins.. no Matter how they came a win is a win.. some will tell you that he fell off late in the season.. he was a rookie and hit a rookie wall sure. Also Mac wasn't the reason we got blown out in the playoffs. The defense was checked out and frozen that night in Buffalo. I wish bill just had stayed the course and had someone on his staff with offensive pedigree to coach mac.. maybe he's still here?

I got a communications degree recently in my early 40s. I had dropped out of College as a kid, and 20 years later decided to go back and finish it with whatever degree, just to say I have a degree.

I shouldn't have bothered.

So from recent personal experience: A Comms degree has nothing to do with developing an ability in effective communication. It's more about "history of media," and a nonstop bombardment of seeing all media through the lens of race and gender. One of the classes, I kid you not, was called "Reality TV" and every assignment was about interpreting the roles of race and gender in any given Reality TV show.

There was like one useful class in the whole bunch. The whole thing was a complete waste of time and money.
