What's left on the agenda for the remainder of this offseason?

It is unfortunate that they let Joe Thuney escape. IIRC he is an All Pro these day. I guess it was all about the shekels, as usual, sigh.
That one hurts to think about and is on a par with the Gronk and Brady fiascos. It's almost like Bill was taking down the offense and getting ready to tank. It worked like a charm if that was the goal.

and one that has bugged me was letting Shaq Mason go. I think you need some solid reliable even if not specular guys on the line for continuity.

Thuney doesn't play Tackle.
Yeah, but then we would not have had to draft Strange and could have drafted Pro Bowler Tyler Smith at LT or Tyler Linderbaum at C/G.

That was an incredible whiff, a cascade effect of organizational cheapness. I gotta think that the Krafts were behind this...

I think trading for Deebo could still be in play, prob a long shot but I wouldn’t completely rule it out.

It does not seem to be in the Patriots plans. Since they seems so hopeless in FA, I assume that the Patriots want build through the draft and would be loath to deal away draft picks.

I just wish they had traded back this year. Apparently they could have gotten the Giants 6 and a first next year for their 3. In this case they could still have gotten JJ and an extra pick next year, and since the Giants are run by meddling owner, the Giants pick next year would be in the single digits.

How many times do you need to be told Maye is a far superior prospect than McCarthy?

Nope, JJ was the 5th QB taken for a reason, Pats were absolutely right by sticking and picking Maye at 3.

How dare you interrupt my procrastination! Just for that you will be pressed into service for assistance. As always, it will appear sometime before the regular season starts.

Your "procrastination" creates all kinds of fun around here. Hang in there.
Suggest that this year's entry include a contest for picking AR injury type and date. Which body part, and in what month? Winner gets something absurdly useless.

I would be concerned about that creating bad karma (i.e., him getting through the season healthy).

How many times do the Krafts have to say that BB had virtual autonomy before you believe it?

Worth considering. Also brings up the question of whether karma can exist in the northern NJ swamplands.

BB certainly did not think so. Now BB may have his draft weaknesses (as far as WRs and second round CBs), but he is way above anyone else on this forum.

I think he's more of a Brandon Browner type than a safety..

Don't overlook Isaiah Bolden as a potential fit at FS behind Hawkins,
Thanks, I've been trying to remember who you mentioned a few weeks ago as a potential conversion from CB to FS.
Or was there some other CB as well?

Post-draft and now post Barmore extension. What do you expect to see between now and August?

I wouldn't mind still seeing a Judon extension. Maybe Peppers as well. I think that'd about cover extensions for this offseason. I don't foresee Rhamondre getting one until the season plays out.

As for the late stage FA market, I think we'll stand pat with most positions on offense. WR was addressed pretty nicely in the draft. OL was to a lesser extent, but I think they'll roll with the vets already brought in, barring any injuries.

I think we're also mostly set in the front seven on defense. But I do feel secondary is the one area we'll still see some movement. A JC return has already been speculated, but I'd really love to see Gilmore brought back into the fold. A veteran safety would be a useful addition as well.
Good questions. I'll take a shot.

Aside from saying we need an impact player everywhere....

Maybe a veteran CB
LB that can play sideline to sideline who is decent in coverage
Maybe a rotational DT/DE
Solid STer
I have no confidence in the FG/XP kicker...maybe bring in a vet
More speed at WR on the outside
Another WR which can create separation on his own vs MtM coverage
3rd down/pass catching RB
Fullback?

Maybe a veteran CB - Yeah, preferably that Gilmore fella
LB that can play sideline to sideline who is decent in coverage - IDK if that's sitting on the couch somewhere, maybe on cut downs
Maybe a rotational DT/DE - see LB answer
Solid STer - Oshane guy that just signed maybe
I have no confidence in the FG/XP kicker...maybe bring in a vet - Yeah
More speed at WR on the outside - see LB answer
Another WR which can create separation on his own vs MtM coverage - Too many WRs already, sorry but you'll just confuse Mayo and AVP
3rd down/pass catching RB - Yeah
Fullback? - the TE they drafted or the Wheatley trying to play OT
Bad answers to good questions.

They have to make sure Dial can actually play before they cut him. Since the only DB they selected was in the 6th round, despite the glaring need at the second boundary corner and at post safety.
I think the team is fine with choosing from

CB: Gonzales, Jones, Jones, Austin, Bolden, Wilson and Wade (and possibly Jackson)

We also might sign Gilmore.

Dial is competing for a Practice Squad position.

So funny how everyone on this board puts Owanu at every position EXCEPT Right tackle yet this is where the coaches say he is playing. He is the RT until it's decided otherwise by the coaches.

Yeah. Why would ANYONE put Onwenu at the ONE position he EXCELLED at rather than at the position he was a JAG at??

A true free safety. Simmons would be the ideal pickup.

Simmons had 3 ints and 5 PBUs last season on 36 targets and allowing 3 TDs. .

Dugger had 2ints and 5 PBUS on 63 targets and allowed 2 TD..

I think they're going to let Isaiah Bolden and Jaylinn Hawkins battle it out..
