What's left on the agenda for the remainder of this offseason?

I don't know what the Pats are doing at RT. Onwenu is not that good there, despite what people think. And I'm a HUGE Onwenu fan. His best position is RG. He's All-Pro caliber.. At RT, he missed plenty of Run Blocks and was beaten at least twice against Buffalo in passing situations.
Having a line of Anderson, Sow, D. Andrews, Onwenu, Okorafor with Wallace, J. Andrews, 2 others and eventually Strange would be ideal, in my opinion. Butter than having Onwenu out at OT.
So funny how everyone on this board puts Owanu at every position EXCEPT Right tackle yet this is where the coaches say he is playing. He is the RT until it's decided otherwise by the coaches.

Key players up for free agency after this year to consider extensions for (excluding guys who signed 1 year deals this year because nothing would have changed with them since signing):

EDGE Matthew Judon - I would NOT try to extend right now. He's going to want top of the market money but he's going to be 32 and coming off injury.
I wouldn't mind seeing a two year extension for Judon with high salary and little guaranteed money. They have the cap space and keeping a leader on defense would be worth it.

If that's the attitude, get used to seeing him playing elsewhere.

Sure, but both sides have to agree and I don't have Judon being amendable to that deal structure.

I don’t think they should ever stop looking to make deals, and once the draft ends teams start looking to move players whose roles will be affected by the incoming rookies. I’m sure their pro scouting department is evaluating every team in the league and looking at who could become available, as well as the potential cost for them. I still think a WR is going to be moved in S.F., and would love to see Deebo coming to N.E.

Yup, again this is yet another risky "strategy". The Patriots could have gotten a serviceable LT in the FA period or a blue chip, road-grader, big galoot LT by trading down in the draft, but instead the Patriots seemed to have closed their eyes and hoped that the problem at LT goes away. A turnstile LT will result in a short life span for the QB...and, ultimately, the coach. Hopefully someone will rise to the challenge, maybe the rook.

As much as I disagreed with BB's drafting in the last few years, he understood the value of a LT. Based on his comments during the Pat MCAfee show, he would have been more than happy to trade down and take JJ plus a road grader LT, but, alas, there is no way he wold take a premier WR, and that is why he is out of a job.

When did BB ever pay big money for an LT? Why did he go into last season with a rookie guard at RT and Mr. pissed off and unreliable (Trent Brown) at LT?

Perhaps. But Bledsoe is going into his 3rd year and has produced essentially nothing as of yet. He could break out this year, we'll see. Mapu is more of an in the box safety/linebacker type. We need a true FS, or someone that can become that.
It's a wonder that Bledsoe has stuck around this long. Does he play on ST? For some reason I can't recall. Mapu played well don't the stretch last season as all the young guys did in the secondary. I believe either Wade, or J. Jones gets asked to play FS. We have our starters in peppers and Dugger so we need that coveted FS for sure.

You ain't getting anything for zappe and juju. Everyone knows zappe is highly likely to ve cut and he is a 2nd/3rd QB at best. JuJu stock is low...doubt anyone will give up assets for him while taking on 15-18 mil contract over 2 years.
That is being generous on Zapp. He's a backup/practice squad QB. He had every opportunity last season to show with extensive playing time. His ceiling is the first half at Pittsburgh last season and his low is what we seen pretty much every game last season. Juju like Parker is a distressed asset. No team will likely take him if he injured.

No need for deebo. He has too much tread. I would want maximum reps this season go to rookies and demario. Keep feeding them.

Why is Bledsoe still here?

I'll use the answer our elders used on us when we were kids "It's a mystery".

He played was active for 1 game last year and 3 in 20022 and took a few reps on Special Teams.

I asked the same questions. He's pretty much taking s roster spot from someone. I don't know what he does/doesn't do well. I'm sure he had to show something to the coaches but I mean this camp his time may be up.

I’m a fan, and he’s only 28. I would offer S.F. a third for him and see if they bite. Either way I think there are still more opportunities for Wolf to keep upgrading the roster over the next 4 months. I just want him to keep being smart about it. 8 tackles were taken in the 1st round, so there should be some fairly high profile cuts coming, as teams move on from veterans with higher price tags to make room for the young players. There will also be rookies from last year taking some starting jobs for this season, and pushing out the vets, especially with teams that are facing cap issues. So opportunities should come up.

Tbh I think we have a decently crowded wr room now and development of rookies is very important from the way I see it. Hopefully demario, baker and polk grow into leaders who can form the fulcrum for next 3 years and then if baker becomes the Z or X receiver and pseudo wr1/wr2 by luck then we have a pretty good problem next year, whom to trade and collect assets .

Kj Osborne also is an underrated receiver. Expecting lots of positive surprises feom him.

In both cases we had the QB position sewn up tight.

I think Maye was the right pick. I think his upside was a better option than the JJ McCarthy option at 11.

Who was the sure fire plug and play LT on the board at 23?

They took a flier on Wallace this year. I can see a stud LT drafted in the first next year.

So what the hell are the Patriots thinking for LT? It is only the most important position on the line and Patriots don't seem to have much of an answer. The Patriots whiffed on an LT during the FA season and then drafted a right tackle in the third round. Are the Patriots going to depend on a rookie RT to play LT?
I think similar to the years with Wynn if we can shore up the other 4 spots and get some better coaching we should be able to work around it. Hopefully Orkorofor or Wallace can transition to the left side and at least give us what Wynn did. Obviously 12 helped cover some of that up too. Maybe we can find a vet someone is considering cutting and make a small trade but probably going to need Orkorofor or Wallace.

They have to make sure Dial can actually play before they cut him. Since the only DB they selected was in the 6th round, despite the glaring need at the second boundary corner and at post safety.

He has spent big time draft capital on Nate Solder and Matt Light; both of these guys were excellent.

It is unfortunate that they let Joe Thuney escape. IIRC he is an All Pro these day. I guess it was all about the shekels, as usual, sigh.
