What's left on the agenda for the remainder of this offseason?

I suspect that the staff is fine with Bledsoe and Mapu as our #4 and #5 safeties. I'd prefer signing a vet.
Perhaps. But Bledsoe is going into his 3rd year and has produced essentially nothing as of yet. He could break out this year, we'll see. Mapu is more of an in the box safety/linebacker type. We need a true FS, or someone that can become that.

What the hell man, where is the biggest Patriots event of the off-season, @Tunescribe starting the next Jete Suck thread?

How dare you interrupt my procrastination! Just for that you will be pressed into service for assistance. As always, it will appear sometime before the regular season starts.

Still think they need a true free safety, a veteran would be good. I’m not as worried about the corners as others. RB makes sense unless they think Harris or Hasty are gonna make a jump.

Tbh it's a high risk high reward approach. If one of them pan out our problem is solved for next couple of years without breaking the bank. Otherwise we stink the joint and draft high and grab the Premier LT in draft.
Good point

Hopefully Okorafor or Wallace can turn out to be our LT for the next few years. I think Anderson is probably best suited to be our swing OT.

Regardless of how LT plays out, I think we’ll be a much improved team this season. 8-10 wins is not too far fetched.

As you said, if none of the current crop pan out as our LT, that will more than likely be our main target in next year’s draft.

That or number 1 WR.

JC is not the type of veteran the team needs next season. He would only make sense if the team was ready to compete and needed a CB.
JC can't run due to the injuries. His career is over.

This is gonna be the easiest one evah to do! Ahole alone would be enough content, but then add in both McMilfson and Messy Bacon proving to be first round busts and getting traded for warm buckets of spit pretty much writes itself!

Getting Gilmore as the #2 outside corner would be awesome.

Figure out Judons contract deal.

I think that the Pats are going to surprise us:

Beyond Gilmore, I think they're going to sign another EDGE guy. Someone like Tyus Bowser.

Did that Chuks guy die or something? He's started 50+ games at tackle and is turning 27 in August.

He also played for a Steelers team that has notably not been able to get the best out of their lineman in recent years. (Look at what Kevin Dotson did in LA this year)

I'd argue he's worth a shot. If things go south, pick up another aged Vet (still quite a few on the market) and make it priority #1 in the draft next year.

Are you referring to Okorafor? He's still with the team. I have him pencilled in as the starting RT with Anderson at LT. Wallace as the Swing to start with. Not sure who the 4th OT will be with McDermott gone. I have Henry going to the PS.

I wonder if the 6'2 205 pound CB that they got as an UDFA might be able to show promise as a FS? It's a nice thought and not impossible given their track record with UDFA's at CB.
I think he's more of a Brandon Browner type than a safety..

Don't overlook Isaiah Bolden as a potential fit at FS behind Hawkins,

We have been ignoring the lack of Oline coaching last year . So we might need to reevaluate all linemen again this year. Hopefully as we build continuity they gel in and form a middling pack after 8-10 games. No need to sign anyone on that side.
YOU might have been ignoring the lack of O-Line coaching last year, but many of us have not.
The biggest issue with the O-line last year was HEALTH. The fact that they were forced to use 5 different RTs AGAIN was ridiculous. That is on BB and the Training Staff. Which is partially why they are all gone.

Considering this as a reset year, we have a long extended preseason . So allow all players more time to condition.

Get gilmore and justin Simmons and extend judon and maybe a free agent kicker to compete with ryland and call it a day.

Why do you keep yammering on about Simmons? The guy was above average and no better than Dugger.

Hawkins has more upside than him. Let's see how things go through Rookie Camp and Mini-camp.

This was my first post about Simmons.. felt he might be a good fit. I will let it play out in TC. This is just a wish list . So no need to get riled about . No way pats are reading this forum to make a decision. We are all throwing darts here. Enjoy the uncertainty.

Yup, again this is yet another risky "strategy". The Patriots could have gotten a serviceable LT in the FA period or a blue chip, road-grader, big galoot LT by trading down in the draft, but instead the Patriots seemed to have closed their eyes and hoped that the problem at LT goes away. A turnstile LT will result in a short life span for the QB...and, ultimately, the coach. Hopefully someone will rise to the challenge, maybe the rook.

As much as I disagreed with BB's drafting in the last few years, he understood the value of a LT. Based on his comments during the Pat MCAfee show, he would have been more than happy to trade down and take JJ plus a road grader LT, but, alas, there is no way he wold take a premier WR, and that is why he is out of a job.

I would concentrate on what the defense is likely to look like down the road given the aging out of some players there and the expiring contracts of others. It would be foolish at this point to try to secure replacements by trade/acquisition (or to resign aging players) because such acquisitions are likely also to be end-of-career, short-term "answers" whose hire leaves the problem intact. It would have been ideal, of course, for the team to have made far better progress in the draft in repairing the abysmally bad offensive squad, but that clearly did not happen. I will revise upward my prediction for the time frame of the (alleged) rebuild from two or three years to four or five. I strongly suspect we will have to cycle through another generation of HC/GM/team leadership before real progress can be made. The group cobbled together for this year's off-season is clearly sub par.

Onwenu isn’t moving to RT now?

I don't know what the Pats are doing at RT. Onwenu is not that good there, despite what people think. And I'm a HUGE Onwenu fan. His best position is RG. He's All-Pro caliber.. At RT, he missed plenty of Run Blocks and was beaten at least twice against Buffalo in passing situations.
Having a line of Anderson, Sow, D. Andrews, Onwenu, Okorafor with Wallace, J. Andrews, 2 others and eventually Strange would be ideal, in my opinion. Butter than having Onwenu out at OT.

-Sign Gilmore
-Try to trade Zappe and JuJu
-Get a backup RB even if only a one year prove it ala Zeke
-Sign a kicker if only to push Ryland
You ain't getting anything for zappe and juju. Everyone knows zappe is highly likely to ve cut and he is a 2nd/3rd QB at best. JuJu stock is low...doubt anyone will give up assets for him while taking on 15-18 mil contract over 2 years.
