1 - Polk
2 - JJ Smith
3 - Douglas
4 - Baker
5 - Bourne
6 - Osborn
7 - Reagor
8 - Teakwood
9 - Bootee

Hard to see the first 5 WRs not on the 2024 season 53 roster barring unforeseen conditions.

1 - Polk must be highly thought of by Wolf and Jonathan K.
2 - JJS has his 7 million 2024 salary guaranteed and is a 12 million cap hit if cut. The only praise that I will give him is that he did excel in Pittsburgh with Ben who had a big arm like Maye is suppose to have.
3 - Douglas had a good rookie season by Patriots standards and hopefully improves.
4 - Baker looks like the deep threat WR that has been absent in this offense for a long time. The Pats have had good luck from CF before. Shawn Jefferson who was also a deep threat WR. Other CF WRs - Brandon Marshall, Gabriel Davis.
5 - Bourne just signed a contract extension March 2024 with this new regime.

6 - Osborn is saying all the right things and has experience, but could be a causality.

Thus far Wolf and Jonathan K have brought in 3 new WRs.
7 - Reagor aint done much.
8 - Teak end of the line for the thin man.
9 - Bootee gets the boot.

Adios to the 3 Amigos.

1. Douglas
2. Polk
3. Baker
4. Thornton
5. Schuster only due to cap hit
6. Boutte/Bourne/Osborne

1. KJ - newly acquired vet, experienced performer with upside, not going anywhere but up.
2. KB - resigned Pats vet, experienced performer possibly still has some upside, popular with fans and locker room. Here to stay.
3. Pop - coming off impressive rookie season, very popular with immense upside. Potential for breakout year.
4. Baker - fresh rookie, ****y attitude, skills to match. Possible surprise star. OROY dark horse?
5. Polk - rookie with potential, has to compete with a stacked WR room for playing time and touches.
6. Reagor - experienced vet with a year on the team, still has upside but potential needs to become reality.
7. Boutte - on the bubble, still has upside but potential needs to become reality.
8. Twig - had his chance, potential never became reality.
9. Juju - lost his mojo and his knees.

1. Douglas
2. Polk
3. Baker
4. Thornton
5. Schuster only due to cap hit
6. Boutte/Bourne/Osborne
Lackluster Thornton ahead of everybody but two rookies and a second year guy?

Can I have a hit of whatever you’re toking? I’m no lightweight but one puff will be enough.

Not in any order

Pop Douglas
Ja'Lynn Polk
Javon baker
KJ Osborne
Kendrick Bourne
Juju Smith-Shuster, only because of the cap hit.

Ranking them as players for this year I'd probably go...

1) Bourne
2) Osborn
3) Douglas
4) Polk
5) Baker
6) Juju
7) Thornton
8) Boutte
9) Reagor

It get a bit complicated because Polk and Baker are roster locks despite where they rank today on the depth chart. Douglas is obviously a lock based on his quality play last year and his youth/contract status. Juju's contract is one you'd hate to have to eat, but with his knees seemingly shot he's the 3rd best vet behind Bourne and Osborn. Tough to keep him as a 6th WR with no STs value or developmental potential. Unless he shows good health and pushes his way towards the top of the depth chart you have to keep him.

Reagor's STs value probably gives him an edge up to the 6th spot in an actual roster projection, over Juju/Thornton/Boutte. But if they like Thornton or Boutte still as developmental guys maybe they cling on (seems foolish for Thornton but hey, you never know).

My guess is that they keep the top 5 - Bourne, Osborn, Douglas, Polk, Baker. One of them likely ends up as a gameday inactive if all are healthy. Reagor makes it for STs as the 6th WR (5th active on gameday). Juju gets cut because it's a sunk cost with his health. Thornton/Boutte likely cut/practice squad guys unless they really, really wow in camp. At that point, you could maybe justify a 7th WR.

If Polk and Baker demand key roles right away with their play, then maybe you look to trade Bourne or Osborn in camp (likely Osborn) to a team that's looking for depth there. If one of them falls to 5th on the depth chart, likely not worth keeping them.

BIG WR – Kendrick Bourne, KJ Osborn, Jalynn Polk, Javon Baker,
FAST WR – Tyquan Thornton, Jalen Reagor,
SLOT WR – Demario Douglas, Juju Smith Schuster,

If Tyquan falters at all he's gone, they'll replace him with one of the new guys.

Do you all know anything about WR's??

Baker = 1

Polk = 2

Pop = 3

Bourne = 4

I don't give a heck about the rest.

Now we're talking.

KB tore his acl, my guess is we will be lucky for him to start the season with us, which people seem to keep forgetting.

edit: i think everything i said is wrong, wrang, and wrung, so move along, nothing to see here

Polk, baker, Douglas, KJ Osborne, KB, snafu- juju. All make it.

What am I missing on JJSS's cap hit?

Current cap hit: 4M

Moving on from him is: 3M (dead money) + 1M (whoever slides into his spot as top 51) = 4M

So keeping him costs 4M and not keeping him is also 4M.

Tells me the decision to keep or not keep should be strictly a football decision. What am I getting wrong here?
Let camp sort it out.

Don’t start cutting guys until you’re sure everyone else is healthy and the young guys can contribute.

Osborn- keep

JSS and Boute release

They can absorb the cap of JuJu sucks. You don’t keep a guy only because of cap.

1) Bourne
2) Osborn
3) Douglas
4) Polk
5) Baker
6) Thornton

I think they eat JuJu's cap hit for culture reasons. Try to sneak boutte and reagor on the practice squad. Funny I just realized I forgot about Parker - think they cut him too, or did they already?

I don't get some of these dudes. If Thornton I just thew up in my mouth or Boutte shows something we are eating Juju money.

Barring any surprises, those would be it. Assuming 1 injury that'd make it 5 WRs on the 53.

Tyquan, Bootay, and Reagor have entered camp fodder status and would need multiple injuries to make the roster. Boutte might be the lead dog of that lot. He's the most likely to show a significant improvement from last year given he's a year 2 guy.

Ok. I think Juju is better than Boutte with his two catches and 7 targets. I think Juju is better than the boneman. It's probably a push with him and Raegor, so maybe the cut him or get in him to redo the deal. Personally, I'd like JJSS, the thin man, and Boutte all gone. Fresh start, new regime, new QBs.
