one of the things i was thinking about in the predict mayes stats thread was this... How does his ability to run affect his overall passing numbers... since i had no idea, i kinda ignored that aspect of his game...

But should we?

I am starting to lean towards having to account for his ground game, the good (yards, rushing td's, 3rd down conversions, etc) and the bad (fumbles... he has a early kevin faulk like ability to lay the ball down on the carpet...)

I agree, I think it’s going to better and I think that will definitely help him.

It felt like they were inconsistent last year in the ground game and some of the play calls were questionable at times, as was the blocking. Van Pelt was in his first real year doing it and did get better as the year went on, but their personnel just wasn’t good enough. That said, it should be night/day this year with McDaniels and I’m hopeful Marrone has the guys up front playing better and hopefully opening up room for guys to run.

im not sure where it came from. but it was said AVP didn't have any designed runs for him... if he's only running when there's a broken play, then we had 1) a lot of broken plays 2)might explain all his fumbles
