The thread about Mack Hollins got me to look at his stats relative to the other WRs, as I posted in that thread.

Then I got interested in how our overall passing offense performs so I looked at receiving stats for everybody including TEs and RBs. Thought it would be good to share and discuss, especially because sentiment about players on this board is not always rooted in accurate perception of their performance.

Here’s what I found, between ESPN and StatMuse. ESPN didn’t have passing target counts for RBs so I found that data on statmuse.com.

Ian has put together some sortable stats as well for anyone interested:

Thanks for the reminder. Would’ve saved me a little effort, but seems I’d still have needed to copy them into a spreadsheet to be able to sort on any arbitrary column.

I’d forgotten Drake Maye is tied with Terrell Jennings for best receiving percentage. He’s also 1 for 1. We should throw to Maye more often!

For comparative purposes, Wes Welker's single season high catch percentage was 77.2% as an underneath/slot/possession receiver with the GOAT throwing him the ball. The Boutte and Diggs catch percentages so far are absolutely INSANE when you look at the type of routes they run. The Hollins/Hooper percentages are kind of fraudulent to take at face value without considering their role, the type of formations they play in, and the type of routes they typically run, but it's reflective of the fact that McDaniels is scheming up good plays to get guys open outside of the ones defenses focus on.

I'll say this Austin Hooper is very underrated as aTE: he's not far off from H Henry talent wise. Hooper and Maye have had some outstanding connections. They're not Gronk/Hernandez but the duo is solid I expect to see more of them.

Yep, all updated here every Monday - save for the last week while I was gone. They match the league's totals, and they're also sortable by down, quarter, both, etc. You can also select a range of games, etc. And they go back through 2021.

And there's a new version coming that will be sortable by column as well, just still testing it and trying to improve it a bit.

More of your good work.

Yes. I think of Henry and Hoper as TE1 and TE1a.
