OT: Evans remains a Buc

Merge if you see fit

One big piece removed from free agency. There are still other premium WRs available but the market is now set - 26m per year for a stud WR1 type.

There's a lot of great defensive players available. But we need to duck tape an offense together.
This may go against what many here think, but I'd rather they spend on the best players even if they're on defense. Shoot the whole draft on offense afterwards, but don't hand out star contracts for jags just because they play offense.

Jacoby Brissett or Ryan Tannehill time
Cousin, I am not in that camp.I would rather gamble on Fields. Tannehill is shot. Brissett is slightly above 60% passer He is 37 and 49!!!
I'd much rather 27 year old Minshew.

OK Riddle me this one. Carson Wentz is a FA and only 31. Would he jump at the chance to be the "bridge> He has a winning record as a starter and played on the Rams for a league minimum $1.65mm.

With that only being a 2 year deal, I am guessing it has 3 void years tacked on. So it's "$26M per year" but the cap hit this year is probably something like $8M, to keep Baker.

But a little confusing since Evans said he wanted to go to a title contender and play with an elite QB - is Tampa a title contender? Who is their QB if Baker doesn't return, and even if he does, is he elite? As always, it was just about the cash.

I think a lot of people are leaning that way, but they'll still patch together enough on offense to play (QB, WR, TE, OT)

People say things to drive up the price. I think he wanted Tampa to think he was serious about leaving so they'd be serious about the $$$, which is what he was really after.

I'd spend to keep Onwenu and a little bit for our key mid tier re-signings (Jennings, Pharaoh Brown, Bryant). Beyond that, I would probably over-extend for Dalton Schultz who's worth a nice contract, and probably throw some money at Tyron Smith and just hope he plays at least half a season while you develop some other prospects.

Otherwise - I'm down for impact defenders. Give me Antoine Winfield Jr baby.

Add in a bridge QB (the pickings are slim) and I'm in agreement. Maybe a value swing tackle too, if there's someone they like?

I would offer 34 for Tee Higgins.
Disagree my man. One of the WRs at 34 is going to be very good and under a rookie deal. Plus, you're likely able to trade back to 6-8, pick up some equity and get the future offense.

If 34 doesn't go for an OT, I'm rating this draft an F.

Great move for him. Why the **** would any high profile receiver sign here? Dude has made plenty of cash. Him and others are not signing here.

I was hoping QB in R1, OT in R2 and maybe a trade back so they'd get an additional 2nd to get WR Legette, but I wonder if he moves up now. I guess all 32 can't take WRs in R1-2. I really like DT Sweat at Texas, too, but I am digressing too much now.

Fact of the matter is that it's a pretty good free agency for defense and a pretty good draft for offense. Use your dollars on defense and use your picks on offense. Play lights-out aggressive defense and ball control game management offense developing a rookie QB behind a veteran and some young linemen and receivers. After a year or two (and additional draft and free agency investment in those years) the offense will grow into itself and your defense will probably still be really good.

Money.

Evans literally said he wasn't signing anywhere that doesn't have an elite QB. Tampa doesn't even have Mayfield under contract, and Evans still signed with them for the money.

Elliot Wolf explained that when he talks to free agents, he pitches them on the program, and they mostly don't care. Wolf said the free agents mostly want to know about the money.

Stop thinking of these guys as football players and start thinking of them as employees. Employees go where they get paid.

Ridley and or Hollywood brown will be the best available FA WRs left. Teams aren't letting go of thier talent.

IF there's a Judon type LB or Gonoz type CB I'm all for it.

No one will agree with me on this one but the best sign at WR is DJ Chark. Age, athleticism, money factor it all in. Used properly he can be a weapon. Better than Gabe Davis or anyone out there. tyquan Thornton is on his last chance as a patriot and DJ Chark fills that profile perfectly if it doesn't work out again. Cut parker. Go into the draft with
Chark, juju, demario, tyquan Thornton
Could sign Darnell Mooney too if your certain Thornton is not gonna work out.
Adding some serious speed
Get a true X in the draft

That's very realistic and sensible.. even if we got Hollywood brown we'd be a better team offensively with all the other guys we have. Hollywood is a burner for sure.

Ridley is going to the highest Bidder now I don't like Hollywood Brown's size we have him in Pop Douglas already.
