ugh Sign Russel Wilson to vet minimum and draft a QB in the first.
I can get on board with that.
Would prefer Fields over Wilson but hey we could Win with Wilson.

What reason would Wilson have to sign league minimum (he won’t) on the Pats, when there are multiple other QB needy teams that look more prepared to win sooner than later?

$17 Mill for a Safety is ok I don't know how I feel about locking up Dugger.

Dugger is worth it 100% but peppers and mapu can play the SS/LB hybrid role. Bottom line is it would be redundant.sucks but Pats need a true FS and to a lesser extent a 2nd boundary corner. Spend the 17 mil there. Hopefully JC Jackson gets his head straight and takes a 1 year 3-5 mil prove it deal. Team saves at least 10 mil and if he's on point him and Gonzales is a formidable duo at corner. Let's not forget what a ball hawk JC can be.

You need at least 2 guys at that position since we play big safety replacing a linebacker on a lot of formations, and if one of them gets hurt, we're back to covering TEs with a linebacker.

Dugger is a much better player than Peppers and Mapu, so there's that too. Dugger is going to become an All-Pro for some other team if we let him go.

I'm not gonna be upset if the patriots decide to sign him. He's a dam good player. Just playing devils advocate. The pats would have 3 SS/LB hybrids and 0 FSs. I don't know if that's good team building and you can have the 3 safety package with a true FS too. Look peppers and Dugger can make do at FS but their playing outa position for sure

Agree he was out of position. I'm just making the point that this guy has superstar qualities, and if you get rid of him for Peppers/Mapu, it could be a colossal error. Based on what he did in 2022, when he should have been an All-Pro, it's a big risk losing him. I'd sign him and figure out something else at FS. Let Mapu learn behind Mack Wilson. Similarly undersized utility LBs.

Fair enough. maybe just move Dugger to OLB He needs to play closer to the line of scrimmage someone who can cover a flat or a TE I'm always coming up with different packages in my head. Maybe a 3-4 defense
Dugger and Mapu would be the OLBs with tavai and Bentley inside and peppers playing SS. Maybe pats can convert a corner to FS
That would be cool

These RBs will be FAs.

The best way to take some pressure off your QB and OL is to sign one of these guys and have them split time with Rham:

- Josh Jacobs
- Austin Ekeler
- Saquon Barkley
- Tony Pollard
- D'Andre Swift

Personally I'd take any of the first 3.

You have money to burn, just sign a top RB for 2 or 3 yrs.
