Jonah Williams seemed like a reasonable target to me until PFF said he’s worth $16M a year. The same PFF says that (on a much higher snap count) he’s been a worse player than Conor McDermott the last two seasons.

I know nobody wants to hear defense but isn’t Bucs safety Winfield Jr a FA?

If so I’d let Dugger go and throw money at him, pair him up with Peppers, awesome combo.
They both have the same playing style, is Winfield a SS or FS? I like Dugger, would be good to retain some of our home grown players sometimes.

I'm mix on Fields you have to give him credit he did make use of his Two Best Receivers DJ Moore and Cole Kmet.
DJ Moore had 1,400 WITH JF.. I think DJ Moore had more yards than the patriots entire WRs this season.. WOW...

But the consensus around here is that he sucks we have seen suck first hand. IF Trading for Fields is wrong I don't wanna be right.

Nobody around here can call any QB any WR bad.. we have the 32nd ranked offense in the NFL.. some act like we aren't. Like Mike said.. look at the man in the mirror..

was reading they could trade Adams to Chicago or NY J
For fields ???
That's the most absurd trade .

Raiders would eb better served to trade and look for a reset year. But with a new coach it's going to be really difficult.

NFL teams need to have forecasting done like professional companies and adjusting expectations based on market conditions and available talent pool and cap space so that the coaching staff are given a realistic chance.

For instance for pats this would be the goal I set

2024 season - 7 or more wins, offensive line ranking top 20, wide receiver top 25, qb top 25, defense top 8

2025 - 9 or more wins, offensive line top 15, wide receiver top 20, qb top 20, defense top 5

2026 - postseason , offensive line top 10, wide receiver top 10, qb top 15, defense top 3

This would make sure they have a decent long term perspective instead of trying to reach for stars every season and screw up the development piece.

FS. I like Dugger too, but Winfield is better and fills a big void in the defense.

I think Austin was very impressive. Should definitely be in the convo to start opposite Gonzo...
In fact, he had some of Gonzo in him. Long, fluid, seemed like a good nose for the ball and some instincts.
Gonzo, Austin, and Bolden if they are/stay healthy, could be a nice triple threat in the defensive backfield.

I love Browning as well, I can be sold on that idea.
Are we sure it would be much less money though?
He put up Burrow kind of numbers last year.
He’s essentially a more refined Mac Joned albeit with balls.
Fields is a generational athlete who with our new QB whisperer could unlock his potential and yes it would cost us pick 34 which I’m ok parting with unless we can guarantee Nix is there.
I would not give up anything more than a 3rd round pick for Fields, and even then that's stretching it. No way I'd give up a 2nd rounder. If I were to take Fields ( which I'm still not sure that I would), I would prefer a 4th this year and a 5th or 6th the draft after.

He also has injury/durability issues.

He also has injury/durability issues.
If we stay with the zone blocking scheme or go to a power blocking scheme, Jonas will be a decent right tackle.

I do not know why New England is set on letting onwenu leave, all I can think of is there was an issue in the locker room. Because this is the type of home grown guy you want to resign.

FS. I like Dugger too, but Winfield is better and fills a big void in the defense.
To be fair, Dugger is asked to do more in this defense, also the absolute absurdity to not have a FS last season affected his game.. Winfield is a great player but is also injured prone. Dugger is pretty durable, and with Marpu likely being the FS next season I think we could be great with Marpu, Dugger and my guy peppers.

I like that.. Gonzo has also been getting tips from WRs reportedly Steve Smith Sr. All 3 of those CBs are big, rangy CBs. I was really impressed with the CBs this season.

The two biggest impact FAs the team could sign:

1. Calvin Ridley - A 75 1,000 8 season after missing a year from football is impressive. Considering he is 29 it'll be hard for him to get a 4 year deal. The pats can afford to overpay him with a QB on a rookie deal. There is alot of talk on a potential bridge QB but Ridley would be a good fit as a bridge WR1. While he isn't a top 10-15 WR he instantly brings the pats WR group to respectability & helps the rookie QBs development. Ridley, Douglas & a day 2 WR would be the team's best WR room since 2017.

2. L'Jarius Snead - Snead is all about BPA in FA. He was an all-pro snub & is arguably the best press man CB in the NFL. He is a perfect fit in the pats scheme could elevate the defense to top 5 status. The pats don't have anyone making 20+ APY & that needs to change. Snead would be a good start IMO.

Neither of these players would cost draft capital. You could also focus on QB & OT with the first two picks.
