You said it was average to below average. It was excellentYup Barmore had 8.5 sacks. Great year. But the whole DL was good, not great, not excellent.

Statistically speaking he'll fail but I hope for the best.Mayo as HC is a huge unknown at this point, may take 2-3 years of a learning curve but if he's good and we make the playoffs in that time all this will be forgotten, won't matter why he was hired instead of someone else. For all we know Mayo could be a hall of fame HC.

I wouldn't go that far.Bill's ouster has enabled Krafty to create his dream woke organization.
It's his team, he can do whatever the **** he wants with it, but you're wrong.Bill's ouster has enabled Krafty to create his dream woke organization.
True colors being shown all over this forum.Bill's ouster has enabled Krafty to create his dream woke organization.
I agree with that but that doesn't stop his woke ideals from affecting his decisions. That's all. It's his team, he can do whatever the **** he wants with it, but you're wrong.
KRAFT
WANTS
TO
WIN
Bill wasn't cutting it anymore, so he got canned. It's really that simple.
Because he hired a black head coach? That’s all it took to send you off on your “woke” ******** rant? It’s certainly interesting, if not disturbing, how outward you guys are about this.I agree with that but that doesn't stop his woke ideals from affecting his decisions. That's all.
Thanks for the not so veiled racist accusation but let me clarify my "true colors" for you: I'm a 100% Ashkenazi Jew who believes that people should be hired 100% based on merit. That would require at least some experience in the position.True colors being shown all over this forum.
How do you know Kraft didn’t hire Mayo based on merit? Thanks for the not so veiled racist accusation but let me clarify my "true colors" for you: I'm a 100% Ashkenazi Jew who believes that people should be hired 100% based on merit. That would require at least some experience in the position.
I don't even know where this whole "woke" thing is coming from. Especially for people who follow the team.Bill's ouster has enabled Krafty to create his dream woke organization.
He has 0 Head Coach Experience and only 5 years in a support role.. Maybe I am wrong - we will see.How do you know Kraft didn’t hire Mayo based on merit?
So you’re saying he was chosen because he was black. You know you can say “I don’t think he is experienced enough” without baselessly crying that it’s a racial hire and using cringe terms like ‘woke’.He has 0 Head Coach Experience and only 5 years in a support role.. Maybe I am wrong - we will see.
I don’t think being impressed by his press conference is a consensus opinion.I don't even know where this whole "woke" thing is coming from. Especially for people who follow the team.
The hiring of Mayo wasn't a sudden decision or based on anything other than the fact he's been a terrific coach. This was originally put in place for when Bill retired because the guy has done a good job, and it's not like Kraft hasn't discussed his desire for "continuity." He's mentioned it in multiple press conferences over the last however many years. And he's mentioned it repeatedly. It wasn't a decision that was made for any other reason other than that.
Also, if you listen to Mayo speak, especially when it comes to when he talks about how he thinks, his vision for the team, etc., the guy is incredibly smart. When you listen to him, it also now explains why he was garnering so much interest as a head coach and why they were afraid of losing him. I didn't really understand it at the time and was somewhat skeptical up until his press conference. I'm not anymore.
From there, this club has had women at the top end of the organization this entire time. Nancy Meier has been here long before Kraft even arrived, and she was one of the first people Belichick credited, along with Berj Nejarian as two key people who helped him during his tenure in his final press conference.
She's held multiple roles and said in an interview a few years ago, "I do more supporting of the general manager -- even though we don’t have that specific role now -- than I did years ago," adding, "I support everyone, if we have a new coach or player coming in or if we're releasing a player. All of those transactions on and off the field come through my office."
I think she's getting up there in age, and It sounds a lot like Robyn Glaser will take on more of a support role in other areas that she's handled, likely lightening her workload. But a "woman" in a prominent position here isn't exactly new. Especially considering one of them has been in a key spot for almost 50yrs.
And Mayo isn't just some guy - he's a player we all rooted for back in the day and he's already impressed based on what we've seen on the field and his initial comments. Again, if you haven't watched his press conference, you should. It'll provide far more insight than quotes and clips. We've already seen how players respond playing for former players, having watched Vrabel in Tennessee, etc. I think he's going to do well here.
We live in a society that is publicizing and emphasizing DEI. Of course people are recognizing it. You seem to be endorsing a thought police dynamic where everyone must think like you.So you’re saying he was chosen because he was black. You know you can say “I don’t think he is experienced enough” without baselessly crying that it’s a racial hire and using cringe terms like ‘woke’.
I meant in terms of his overall vision and his philosophy. They deflected on the GM/coordinator questions, albeit Kraft was actually more direct when it came to being asked about his role in personnel decisions.I don’t think being impressed by his press conference is a consensus opinion.
I mean it’s a press conference, so take it for what it’s worth, but they sounded like two guys who didn’t have a vision for what lies ahead hoping no one asked, and deflecting when they did.
People can recognize it, but it's surprising that some of it is being said given that none of these were sudden decisions and that - especially from the Glaser move - are new. Meier's been here forever and Glaser isn't new either. We live in a society that is publicizing and emphasizing DEI. Of course people are recognizing it.
