Tom Curran: Sources made 'clear to me' decision to move on from Belichick made after Germany game

Anyone who thinks it was just Brady is a moron.
I agree
BB is at the end of his reign but I still feel he was the GOAT of coaching in the NFL
Others can just take the it was all Brady stance. We will never know it is hypothetical

What I do know is Brady was the best but BB helped make him that way. Brady could have gone to a team that misused him and could have fizzled before he could thrive. Brady did not have a rocket arm and had no mobility. He did have an uncanny ability at feeling and adjusting to pressure around him and was cerebral as anyone else at the position. He was also ICE.
BB developed an offense to play to his strengths and cover his weakness. We made dinking and dunking a blueprint to success

How many great players who were self destructing on other teams came here and thrived and praised BB for his coaching style and game plans. Heard many of them say the atmosphere here is like nothing I have ever witnessed. They also would say they are always put in position to win with his game plans and in game adjustments.
Coming out as a team. Always praising the rest of the team instead of pounding your chest. That carried future teams to buy into what made our winning ways. The Patriot Way

BB as a Defensive Coordinator was brilliant. Parcells would attest to that. How many times did he take away there strength and make them play to their weakness. Just as he played to our strength and covered our weakness

Personally his time is near. The game has changed and players attitudes are different. More of the ME and not the WE.
That to me means BB’s coaching style is mute now. He thrived on older players wanting a shot at a title and being put in position to win. They would buy in. The league is different now. It is turning more and more into a business than a sport. I think that applies to GM responsibilities now. He had some bad draft picks as well as FA signings. He also had some good/great ones. Just like every other GM in the league. I think because of the difference in younger players mind set it puts BB behind the eight ball picking players now. He has to choose a player with less talent to get a player with the right attitude. And there is far less of them now.

I wish he would just retire and forget Shula. He is the best even without the most wins.
Instead of the anger and hate for Belichick. Enjoy what Brady and BB brought here. A run that will never be matched. I owned ST’s before and during the run. I know what it feels like to suck. BB had a major presence in making us the Niners, Cowboys and Skins of my childhood. A dream I always had. But he took it to a different level. I feel blessed to now say I am a Patriot fan.

To those of you trashing BB and saying it was all Brady. I beg to differ. And be careful what you wish for. Sucking really does Suck

Seems to me the best option remains one I have been advocating for years now: Fire Belichick the GM. Keep Belichick the HC.

I'd even call that the best option from Belichick's point of view as well compared to picking up and starting over someplace completely new.

It wasn't Brady or Belichick. It was us the fans.

Bill is the problem you dumbass. His drafting has sucked for a decade. His coaching has declined over the last 5 years. Star players are leaving him because they don't want to put up with him. Free agents aren't trying to come here. His coaching staff decisions have been awful. Reid got fired from Philly because he had too many failures there and was trending down and both sides needed a fresh start. It worked out for both of them. Philly won a Super Bowl and found a way to be competitive and Reid found a team that was exstatic to have him and was able to load up on what he wanted and he won rings as well. It was a win win. The Patriots aren't winning right now.

Wozzy I've watched more football than you have in your life and I get paid to officiate high level college games. You are not on my level in terms of exposure or understanding the sport. You are a run of the mill homer who sits on his couch and just says whatever feels good because you can't accept that the old dog had his day an it's over. You aren't going to be able to flex your limited knowledge here.

Explain to me why Bill's special teams is one of the worst units in the league. That isn't Mac. Explain to me why every good offense that isn't crap burns the **** out of our defense and has the last few years. That isn't a Mac issue. Sorry you spent all last off season acting like an idiot saying this team was good and now you had to invent a conveniant scapegoat to hide from being wrong when most of us knew beter.

Sorry it sucks that you showed your ass like this. Oh well. Can't say it wasn't predictable.
Holy ****, i hardly feel worthy sharing this forum with you. It sounds like you know more than anyone else here, how can you stand posting with us morons. I think we should simply let you post whatever moronic drivel you usually post and then tell us all what idiots we are when we dare to question your vastly superior intelect in football matters.

Ian, could we make it a forum rule that whatever Lancerman posts is immediatley taken as gospel?

The Bucs were 7-9 before Brady. I wouldn't call that a loaded team. Or maybe loaded compared to the crap here but that's a low bar.
They had talent but as you and all other fellow Bradyites know those Bucs team were extremely undisciplined.
TB12 masked some of it but once they started getting old in his last year we saw that medicore season in the end

I don't know more than everyone else. I know far more than Wozzy who has consistently been haranguing every one since last year for daring to say this team might struggle based off of where we were last season and the off season we had. Now that he was wrong, he can't handle that he gets called out on it, he's changing goal posts and making scapegoats for why he "really wasn't wrong" if you squint hard enough.

Now you can have an intelligent conversation and address the actual points I made or piss your pants and cry and moan because people aren't echo chambering your preferred viewpoints back at you. I don't really care which. But I'm not your therapist, so I don't need to deal with your meltdown.

Players play differently when they know someone like Tom is joining their team. Anyone that has ever played sports at any level knows teammates will follow what the leader or best players do.

1.) If it is truly the end of BB's run here in Foxborough....I'll be sad and very worried about what comes next. Yeah, BB-the-GM has not had stellar results in the last couple of years...but will the next GM be any better? Game day coaching and weekly game planning....it will be a step down no matter what, IMO. Careful what you wish for....

2.) That being said, it might be a good juncture to reset...I mean BB is not coaching more than 5 seasons AT MOST. He will be 76 if he coaches 5 more seasons...being a football coach is a grind...especially in the NFL. So, may as well press the reset button now...this team is devoid of offensive talent, has a ton of cap space, and likely a top 5 draft pick.

3.) I DO NOT WANT BB Coaching a division rival....what if the Bills fire McDermott? The Jets fire Saleh? So, if Kraft can work out a trade....SIGN ME THE F UP. Send BB to the NFC...or the AFC West...or something....

4.) Then again, I think Kraft owes it to BB to have a mutual parting of ways...maybe with an unspoken agreement to never coach any team in the AFC East. BB still hates the Jets, right?

5.) I am worried about week 18's match up vs. the Jets in Foxboro....it'll be BB's last game...and Matt Slater's last game....man...we need the Cardinals, Commanders, and Giants to win a game in the next 3 weeks to render the results of that game meaningless.

6.) Who do I want to Coach/GM this team? I say I want a separate structure this time around...one GM and one Coach working in unison. Not sure Mayo is the answer as we need offensive help....but we do need to keep the defense intact...it is a pretty good D. But if Belichick leaves...we are also losing Stephen and Brian Belichick, IMO. So, what offensive minded Coach is out there? The # of Coaches in the NFL who have won a SB ring: 9 (BB, Tomlin, Harbaugh, Pedersen, Reid, Payton, McCarthy, Carroll, and McVay) And those 9 have won 15 Superbowls..... BB won 6 of them and is 3-1 against these guys in the big game and only lost a playoff game vs. Harbaugh and Pederson... just sayin' Maybe Pat McAfee was right....I don't envy Kraft for the decisions he is going to have to make....

7.) Will they induct BB into the Pats Hall of Fame quickly like they did for Brady? They should.....

People who say they're leaving when BB and TB are both gone are just bandwagoners.
I look at him/her as a person of principle who's been worn down by the NYFL and is talking about giving the game up. Every one of his reasons for being disappointed are more accurate than your one reply. He covered it all very well.

I agree. And Belichick put together all the teams and coaching staffs, as well as game plans that worked with Brady over a 20 year Dynasty, 9 Conference Championships, and 6 Lombardi’s. People can hate Belichick all they want, that’s their personal preference, but acting like he had nothing to do with their success is just ignorant,

Define irony. You are bragging about how much more you know about football than Wozzy does, while telling us what an idiot Bill Bellicheck, a sure fire first ballot hof coach is, who has 8 superbowl rings and a superbowl defensive game plan in the hall of fame already. And your claim to fame is you watch more football then Wozzy does and ref college games.

You really can't make this **** up.

It does far less damage than the lead you ate for breakfast every morning. But at least that explains why you are one of the dumbest mother****ers on this planet.
You did not have that many brain cells to risk and now LSD has taken whats left.

Its sad and funny at the same time.

1) If they get rid of Bill I'll party hardy. I think it's been proven for years that it's the players that win, not the coaches, and Bill has been a poor talent evaluator. If I had my choice I'd want him to stay on as DC but that ain't happening.

2) One of the beauties of the NYFL is that teams can turn around quickly but need to hit it well in the draft.

3) I don't really care where Bill goes as long as he goes. I think coaching is wicked overrated. As we've found out over the years even the good coaches need players or they'll lose. Bill may actually be the poster boy for that.

4) I think it's a mutual hate between Bill and NJ. I also feel that Kraft and Bill have already planned the future and it will be amicable.

5) Speaking of Slater, I used to think that he was a favorite of Bill's but when I saw a recent Kraft interview I realize that it was both of them who are fond of Matt's dad Jackie.

6) I'm starting to like the idea of bringing in a college coach but Mayo would be fine too.

7) They better induct Bill into the Pats HOF. Just don't add Tuna ever.

Bro context is your friend. That's all I can say. I never once said Bill Belichick is an idiot. I said he factually has been bad. The results are plain black and white. Wozzy loves to call people out and say **** like "you probably only started watching football a few years ago". Of course I'm going to give him **** on that.

Sorry that you are on your period. One thing I WILL give Wozzy to his credit is as dumb as I think his arguments are, he does stick to the actual topic at hand even if I think his reasoning is nonsense. You are just being a petulant child getting all up in your feelings. It's not cute and it's not interesting. You are hitting Andy territory. It's cringe as **** pissing and moaning. Read the room.

And once again, rather than address the actual points I made, you went into your little whining diatribe because you aren't getting coddled.

The room is you and a bunch of the same whiney *****es we have been listening to ever since Tom left. I do enjoy the sexist period stuff, that is really mature, like most football refs I know, have to make up for small ****'s by getting to yell at kids.
