2024 QB

Anybody like Rattler??
One of many fliers worth taking Day 3, good QB class...My personal pre-draft favorite since 2014 (I was huge on Aaron Murray, McCarron, Mettenberger, Boyd, and Shaw and of course Bridgewater, while of course recognizing the hype with Manziel, who I knew would suck, Bortles, Carr, and Jimmy)
McCarthy makes me nervous see a little Mac in him.
McCarthy does absolutely nothing for me...If we take him Day 2 it means we're taking a QB first round in 2025

Everything is going wrong with USC, but we saw how good he was last year when he had a functioning offense.

He may have a similar story to Marino. Heisman junior year, horrible senior year, lights the NFL up.
Not sure I'd call 1 SB loss (2 years after Woodley led the Dolphs to it) and 8-10 in the playoffs lighting it up... I mean he threw for less than 40% one playoff game...

Are we talking about Dan Marino?

Yiiiip

Dan Marino... Mac Jones...

Ok, I am done thinking.

Gimme Marino all day. Marino's failure in the post season is all about ... wait for it... coaching.

Man they both have punchable faces... tough call... I'd have to see Marino try to do a Griddy to make a final call.

Oh I have no love for Marino, but c'mon. The guy was everything Mac isn't.

No doubt. Just my similar lack of love for Marino questioned and nitpicked the "lights the NFL up."

He kinda did light it up, he just didn't get it done in the post season.

Right, that was a Shula thing, not a Marino thing though. No 1000 yard rusher for like 12 straight seasons when that position was at a premium during the 80’s. The defense was just so so. Marino would probably dominate in todays game if he learned to check down to the rb. Sure as hell wouldn’t have been picking himself off the ground every other play with todays rules.

I like Nix. Not my 1st choice but he's got potential.
Meanwhile, Maye was 16/36 today . Sucked.
Williams has sucked on numerous occasions and is very immature. I want no part of him.
Really, I feel like Penix is the safest bet.
And while I was typing this,Penix just dropped a 35yd bomb in the end zone in heavy rain fir a big lead vs. #11 Oregon State
I’m leaning towards Pennix too. Don’t want to waste 2nd or 3rd overall on a bust. Washington vs Oregon II is tonight at 8. Marv and Pennix would be an interesting draft.

Obviously, we’re not in NFC. But, none of the 7 playoff teams in that conference used their own 1st on a qb. Philly, SF, Detroit and Dallas have great rosters and found a QB. I’m
Leaning towards that route.

To be fair, SF did their darndest to draft their future franchise QB with their own first round pick, and multiple others.

Drake Maye not even get drafted in the 1st Round at this continued rate of suckage. Geez what a crapshoot.

Hopefully Bo Knows you can't spike the football backwards. Wow Arkansas got robbed here.

I wish they had these for all the QB prospects. Dude has had an incredible year, but I like seeing their mistakes, as everyone makes them.

Also found this tidbit from some Auburn people... Seems like he's matured a ton since then one would hope, but that's what we had hoped for with Mac.

Sorry to say, but he isn’t the kind of leader that EVERYONE will respond to. He can be and is a very polarizing figure with his team and the fan base alike. He is loyal almost to a fault, but he has a very bad habit of pointing his fingers elsewhere when he is better off thinking it through and doing it quietly.

Its almost like he does a lot of good but he gets in his own way. Also, when he is good, he can be really good. But if he starts out slow or tails off in the middle of a game, he can’t get it back. This is probably due to his emotions. I won’t say he is immature but he can channel that excess energy in a more positive direction to get better results.
